Good morning! Last night, I grabbed sushi for H and myself (side note: I tried a spicy kani salad for the first time and I have no idea what was in it but it was SO GOOD), then H left for hockey and I got caught up on some shows: Scream Queens, The Leftovers, Chasing Life. 

Tonight, I have to CLEAN. We have friends going to the Devils first game of the season with us and then they're staying over afterwards. I likely won't have time to get in actual work out but cleaning has to count for something, right? 

Since Home Chef didn't arrive early enough last night, tonight's dinner is Shrimp Fra Diavolo with Linguine and Robust Chile Flake Tomato Sauce. We also ordered these for the week: 

Southwestern Grilled Sirloin Steak with Elotes Salad, Red Rice, and Salsa Verde

Brown Butter Sole "a la Meuniere" with Green Beans and Roasted Romas

Tex-Mex Turkey Taco Salad with Corn, Avocado, Pickled Onions, and Lime Crema

I'm super excited for all of them! I hope everyone has a great day and PLEASE let it not be as long as yesterday

Good morning!

I am so tired today, and I slept so well last night, maybe that's why. Usually I get up in the middle of the night to empty my bladder but I didn't drink enough water yesterday (or my body is just really hydrated, who knows).

Our BA delivery came in and of course, ingredients were missing, so I'm cancelling it and sticking with Home Chef. H made lamb sausages last night and I had leftover pasta fagioli that I made (I don't eat lamb). Tonight I'm having salmon and H will have the leftover lamb.

I have work today, then a nail appointment, then dinner and catch up on last night shows (Empire, AHS).

@swazzle cleaning totally counts as a workout! That's probably why I hate to clean!

Being more assertive I guess. Like if I say something that goes against the majority I'm afraid of the backlash, it happens at work a lot so I tend to just keep my mouth shut.

skydiving. I'm afraid of heights.

texting someone and not hearing back from them in 3 days.

Pay the mortgage off on my house, put a lot of work into it, sell it and move down south. If there was any money left over I would invest it.

Nothing really. It just took me 10 minutes to settle on what I wanted for breakfast.

The community itself. When I was engaged, I got a lot of good advice just from NEY and it helped a TON with the planning process!

 

.....bugs you about NEY?

There's a certain poster on here that uses the daily thread as their personal Tumblr (Tumbler?) and it's kind of annoying, I can't remember the poster's name but I know others have said the same thing. Also sometimes, the grammar policing can get a little out of hand. There are things called typos, there are also people who don't have spell-check on their browser systems (me!) so if they screw up, big deal. Text speak, yeah that's annoying, but we're not writing op-eds for the Times here.

Pay off my student loans, my cars, my mortgage. Pay off my parents debt. Foster a lion baby at Black Jaguar White Tiger. Travel everywhere.

Skinny pants, a soft, cozy sweater, and boots or booties.

Pork roll, egg, and cheese on a roll. I WANT THIS SO BADLY.

You guys make me laugh and help the work days go by quicker

It really irks me when people ONLY EVER post about themselves. I'm not talking about on the daily threads when people don't respond to all of the previous posts because we've been chatted or you don't have the time that day (although there are some people that ONLY EVER do that, too, and they can be included here). If you only like talking about your life and you don't want to interact with other people, get a diary.

Morning ladies! I had a boring night....but I slept really well so that's good! I need to organize my closet tonight. I always feel so motivated to do it while I'm at work but the moment I get home I just can't. That's all for me. Fingers crossed today goes by quickly.

Will do questions when I get to work and am not on mobile!

ETA: I did order a bunch of invite samples last night so I'm excited to see those when they come in!

Can I add some more pet peeves?

1) coming into work sick, knowing you're sick and getting other people sick. Once again (and I know I've bitched about this before), my office sounds like a TB wing in a hospital.

2) when you ask for clarification for something and they just tell you the same thing that they told you earlier.....

3) when you ask someone NOT to do something and they waste your time and do it anyway.

4) the red notification numbers on my iPhone. Especially the one for Shazaam. No, I do not care what Fetty Wap Shazaamed.

These things literally all happened to me just now in a matter of 10 minutes.

Yesterday I went to The Cheesecake Factory with my BFF to get dinner. Dinner itself wasn't great but it was nice to see her as we've both been busy and I missed her. Then I headed home and I was just too tired to work out. Instead I sat online looking at houses. I realized yesterday that we were way overestimating what price house we could afford because we weren't factoring in property taxes, home owner's insurance and PMI. So disappointing. 

Today the plan is to do the Blogilates workout and make dinner. So happy Friday is almost here!

I STILL have not organized my clothes. I want to tackle everything with the mentality that I'm getting rid of anything that I don't feel good in because if I don't feel good in it then I won't want to wear it so what's the point of letting it take up precious closet space? I just have to do it. Maybe this weekend.

I think we need to motivate each other this weekend to get this done! I have clothes with tags on them that I haven't work and bought 3 years ago, so yeah....

@lavenderfields13 I love looking at houses, that sucks thought you didn't factor in other costs in your escrow, hopefully you find something!

Ugh TK wouldn't let me post!Good morning!  

I had dinner last night with my dad and my youngest sister.  It surprisingly wasn't horrible.  We don't have a good relationship with him, and our few visits usually end in some type of argument. There was no argument this time. I think it is hitting him that he needs a better relationship with us, especially since my other sister is pregnant. My sister brought her dog with her, so we came back to my house to let the dogs play.  Which apparently needs to happen more often, because Cal was very possessive of her toys.

.....you like about yourself (physically, personality-wise, etc)? Physically - my booty, it's my best asset --- personality -I'm blunt & sarcastic, but if I care for someone, I will do anything for them

.....could use a little work? I could be less lazy and more active 

.....you've always wanted to do but were too afraid or just unable to do it? I used to be deathly afraid of heights and would avoid certain things. I've never been on a ferris wheel or a hot air balloon. 

.....you wish you had more time for? Everything -- house construction consumes my life, though we have been able to start doing thing for fun

.....is a pet peeve of yours? people who expect other's to do all their work and then take credit for it. Also, poor planners. 

.....you would do if you won $1,000,000? Pay off all of my debt; pay off all my family's debt; go on an awesome vacation; make a donation to the local animal shelter; then probably save the rest

.....you love to wear? comfy clothes. Modal is my favorite fabric. I shop by touch.

.....you want to eat right now? Chocolate. I am pmsing and just want a vat of chocolate. In an hour it will be salt. 

.....you love about NEY? The friendships we've developed with each other. Also, the guaranteed entertainment. 

.....bugs you about NEY? any of the knottie1234567890 -- also, I hate that we only communicate while we're supposed to be working.  I think we should bring back KUI and other evening/weekend things.

@buddysmom80 - I've heard lately about people getting bad food or missing food altogether from BA. That never happened to me... what a bummer that is!

Add me to the list of people that need to re-organize their closet for fall/winter. I also need to go to Target today to get some shoe organizers. DH has agreed to let me take over some room in the back bedroom for more shoes, which will help our closet look a LOT less cluttered!

Last night I donated blood, then came home and made yummy teriyaki chicken tenders. I meant to bring the leftovers for lunch but totally spaced. Then I sat on the couch and watched four more episodes of Gilmore Girls.

Tonight I am going to go for a quick run after work, then I need to clean up the house, dust, clean the bathrooms before DH returns from his work trip late tonight.

@swazzle - I know, I have the same mentality but when it comes to actually doing it I am lazy. I need a buddy to help me go through stuff. As in, literally sit there and watch me do it.

@lavenderfields13 - I know, all the extras on a house are the killer. Such a bummer but better to figure it out now before you fall in love with a house you can't afford. Here's another tip: don't look at houses in cheaper parts of the country. Anytime I watch House Hunters and they are in Texas I want to scream from jealousy.

Everyone talking about putting away clothes is making me really sad that we don't have dressers yet. All of my clothes are in bags, suitcases, and boxes.

@speakeasy14 I'm glad dinner was good with your dad and sister. Quigley is possesive with his toys too! When my parents come to visit and bring their golden retriever he will get so mad if my parent's dog is playing with toys that he hasn't touched in years. It's like two kids arguing! Also in regards to clothes, my clothes are either crammed into a dresser, or folded on the floor near my bed so I get your frustration. I need to figure out a better system, I think just purging my clothes is going to help.

@cu97tiger I feel your pain about organizing shoes I have so many shoes all over the house! I'm also trying to convince H to let me convert a bedroom into a dressing room or the root cellar in our basement (it's not a dirt floor, but it's seperate from the rest of the basement) for me, but he just gives me a look like "are you serious right now?"

I won't be around much today. I hope everyone has a good day. I have half a day at work this afternoon I am going to see my RE to see when we can begin trying again.  I'm so nervous.  I had a great therapy appointment last night.  I really like my therapist.  Last night I received a package from some of the greatest friends in the world included was a a beautiful heart necklace with Anneliese's garnet birthstone. It is beautiful and I haven't taken it off since I got it. I hope to be back later to catch up.

@buddysmom80 - I know I have typos some times and couldn't help but laugh out loud at your Times Op Ed comment.  

@TwoDimes - I probably bug you a little then by responding to everyone.  Sorry, it isn't about being polite so much as it is about trying to find common ground with everyone.  This is my adult version of making friends.  

@jenjen047 - My closet is calling for organization too.  H and I found a bunch of boxes of old clothes in our basement we never unpacked...yeah, time to get on that a year and a half later.

@speakeasy14 - What kind of dog does your sister have?  I'm glad the pups got along.

@lavenderfields13 -  Yeah, every time H and I think about refinancing so we can pay off the house earlier we still realize that we will be stuck with a ginormous tax bill.  Home ownership is not everything it is cracked up to be.  

@cu97tiger - I think I might have to PM you later this week or early next week about Arizona. For a variety of reasons, I don't know if H and I are going to be able to take a side trip in India for my birthday when we are there next month....I was thinking of making my work trip to Arizona in December a little get away instead for my birthday celebration.  Sedona maybe?  Any ideas?

I'm exhausted guys.  I got like 2 hours of sleep last night.  I was up worrying about locked doors for a while, then got up and checked them all, then Raj started barking because I was up, I got him down and couldn't fall back asleep.  When I finally did, he started barking again.  Rinse and repeat all night long.  Sigh.  

On the positive side, even though I gained 1.5lbs this week...MY LITTLE BLACK GOAL DRESS FITS!  Seriously haven't worn the dress in years and I questioned my sanity trying it on today when I was already grumpy but it zipped right up!!!  It makes me so happy.    AND further proof that the SCALE IS A LIAR guys.

become an FBI agent.  I have the perfect personality and ability to blend into my surroundings for it I think (one of those under the radar types) and I'm a good shot with a gun.  Unfortunately, no matter how fit I am... asthma = no running long distances.

myself.  I take care of everyone else first and need to be better about that.

so many things when it comes to women not helping other women.  Guys help each other ALL THE TIME but so many women feel the need to fight both men and women in the workforce.

@jenjen047 I'm obsessed with House Hunters and I'm always so jealous of the cost of houses other places! I have to remind myself that they most likely make less money and that's why everything is cheaper. It's so frustrating though. When my parents moved to OH they were able to buy a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house and what they paid wouldn't even get us a condo here. 

House Hunters makes me think of another pet peeve: when people on the show are viewing homes and complain about the paint colors. You know you can paint the rooms after you own it right?? 

@speakeasy14 I got the tomato basil pasta which is what I usually get but it had no flavor this time and tasted watered down. They also changed some of their bread so it's super hard and crusty

@peaseblossom I'm glad your therapy session went well and you like your therapist. That necklace sounds beautiful!

Whoo! Exciting news! I got 80% on the quiz in my course that's worth 20% of my final grade!!

Obv last night not much since my course.

Tonight is dinner {Matt is making sausages with steak Diana sauce so they're caramelized, and I'm making rice as a side lol} catch up on tv shows and general tidying. We have a bunch of stuff to bring up to our locker.

I was just thinking last night my sinus/eye issue was going away, but this morning it is back. Guhhh!! Hopefully end of the month will get my answers when I visit the eye dr

@swazzle I have nothing planned Saturday except for grocery shopping (morning) and being a couch potato so yeah, my schedule is free! I already have in my head what clothes I'm getting rid of. I'm just nervous because they've been kicking around the idea that if they move us off-site and have no patient contact then we don't have to wear these work uniforms. So if I get rid of everything, then I would have to go back out and buy new stuff. Actually, that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world so....

Speaking of shoes.............. 

I just caved and bought the boots that I've been lusting over for almost a year. I bought them in black last December and they're my favorite boots EVER. They're on sale today so I bit the bullet. I just hope I get home first the day they're delivered. I can see it now the first day I wear them: "Oh these old things? I've had them for ages, H!"

@buddysmom80 - You could send it all to ThredUp and then maybe use the credit for new stuff in the future if that happens? OR put it in bags and set it aside for the time being so that if you get moved off-site, you'll still have it all but it's not taking up space in the closet.

@twodimes - Ha, no that was definitely not aimed at you specifically, it's more of just a general thought. It makes me sad that some people have left NEY over the years because they were made to feel not welcome, or because they had personality conflicts with other posters. I love ALL the posters (well, not all of them, I AM human).

@minskat30 - That's a bummer about not being able to go to India but I do think you can find lots of things that will keep you occupied in Phoenix/Sedona. Definitely PM me (how are we not FB friends?).

@minskat30 she has a boxer mix.  He's a year or two younger than Cal.  I was living at home when my sister got him, so they grew up together.  I think she's just enjoying being the only dog too much now. Also, WTG on fitting in your goal clothes!!!

@cu97tiger @lavenderfields13 and anyone else who wants to skydive; do it!! I was terrified of heights before I did it.   It was the best thing I've ever done. I went in 2012 and have been dying to do it again. And because I'm a total AW:
