We went to my niece's 7th birthday party while we were visiting last weekend. The 2nd part of the party was at YSIL's house with family and close friends. They had a few games for the kids including a piñata. They went in order of birthdays, starting with birthday girl niece. Wolverine was 2nd in line since her birthday is in November. (She'll be 5). YSIL's H had the piñata strung up with a rope over their swing set, and gave the kids a shinai sword (wooden Kendo practice sword) to hit the piñata.(see below)
After niece took her few swings, she gave the sword to Wolverine. Wolverine knocked the butterfly piñata off the rope with her first swing, and then, without the slightest hesitation, began to beat the thing on the ground. She must have gotten a good 5 swings in before any of the adults stopped laughing long enough to get her to give up the sword. YSIL's H had to string up the butterfly with a rope around the middle so the rest of the kids could get a shot.
