My dad and sisters are Cubs fans.  I...don't care.  Totally nodded along with everything you said, @thisismynickname.  :D

We do enjoy going to see the Indy Indians (AAA ball, they're the Pirates farm team).  Tickets are cheap and if you get lawn seats, you can bring in your own cooler of food.
I love going to Indians games but I have a hard time convincing H to sit in the lawn
The lawn is the best.  Second only to the box seats, because you know...free food and booze. :D
My old company would always do an outing in one of the picnic areas with the free food and drinks before the game it was awesome. They changed it up to Symphony on the Prairie the last couple of years

My company did the picnic thing there a few times.  Now they just have a 'company' night at the game, which means discounted tickets and food vouchers.  They also do discounted tickets to Symphony on the Prairie, Children's Museum, etc.
  • I went to only one Cubs game as a child growing up in IL.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • It might be because I'm Canadian and we only have one team, but I really don't get baseball. Give me a football game (American or Canadian) any day and I'm happy to watch.

I'm working this week and it is just piles of crap, piling on more piles of crap. We start our major recertification period next week (for the following four weeks) and I literally get nothing else done. Boo urns.

  • @thefanciestbeckler that is amazing news! Congrats. Wine to celebrate?

I am away for work this week so I'm all on different time zones and hopped up on diet coke. Feeling very far away from home today as FI has an appt with a specialist. He's had some stomach concerns for a while now and all tests keep coming back negative, yet the pains continue. I hate that he has to go alone, feeling like a very bad partner.

  • I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!

Sorry flr for the caps, but I think that's worth yelling about  ;)

They called me right before I got off work today and made me an offer. I start April 18 :) I am so excited and so thankful for a new opportunity!!!
    Yay!!!!!! Awesome!
  • Congrats @thefanciestbeckler. And just in time to celebrate with the hubs!!!

@glasgowtolondon, I want to feel bad for your H but I don't associate with "inbreds" or "sluts" ;). Surely you understand!

    Congratulations @thefanciestbeckler

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I've been off line for a couple of days. DD and SIL drove me to H's hometown for funeral since H was already there. Everyone is doing well. 92 year old FIL is doing a lot better than I thought he would. He is such a sweet man. I know I said earlier they have been married 63 years, but found out they knew each other for 75 years. They met at church when she was 12 and he was 17. Of course, they didn't start "courting" until many years later. Service was very nice. Everyone will miss her but she is out of the intense pain she has been in for a while. Cancer really sucks!
  • @ILoveBeachMusic so sorry for your loss.  Sounds like they had a beautiful love story though.
