Invitation Sample

Okay ladies, FI & I have decided that this is the invite we want. I found it on Shutterfly. I wanted to keep the wording simple. How is this? My FI, my mom & I are paying for it. I still need to find matching (or at least similar) RSVP cards, Shutterfly doesn't have them.

    Together with their parents
    Rachelle
    and
    Charles
request the pleasure of your company
as they are united in marriage
    Saturday, the twelfth of November
    at half after four o'clock
    (etc.)

I would make the names smaller and the other print slightly larger.  You can omit the year if you are trying to save space.

This wording changes from first-person to third-person halfway through. ("our parents" but then "they are united".)

Also, shouldn't it be in passive voice?

You are right about the "their parents".  It is early out here!
No, if the parents are hosting together with the couple, you do not need to use passive voice.  This is non-traditional wording, and I do not really like it, but that is JMHO.   If the couple is hosting their own wedding alone, then it is required.  My own preference would be to show the MOB hosting.
I will change my reply.  Thanks!

I see what you mean, but if the parents are co-hosting it seems like their names should be on the invitation. It seems kinda weird to issue an invitation anonymously.  =)

Like I said, I don't really like this wording, but it is widely used these days.  It is popular with couples with complicated family situations, or who (erroneously) wanted to "include" everybody on the invitation.
