Last minute change of venue location--HELP

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to change the location of our reception. 

Luckily we have not sent out our invites yet.  However we need to send them out by the end of this week, making a reprint-reorder impossible. Our invites our reception only and so there is not a separate card for ceremony/reception. 

So how should I address this change? I figured I could just slide an additional insert into the letters. 

Also I am unsure how to word it. I do not want to get into details or make it sound unfortunate. I just want it matter of fact like.

Could you post the wording of your invitation?  That would help.  Why reception only invitations?

You need to get on vistaprint or go to office depot and order new ones asap. It makes no sense to send something out with wrong information, no matter how "nice" they are.

This happened to me but I had already sent out my STD and invitations - invitations actually went out hours before I found out my venue closed.  I ended up sending out second invites with the correct information along with a note explaining why they were getting a 2nd invitation and new accommodation information.  I also was quick to update my wedding website and we sent a lot of emails out so everyone would anticipate the 2nd mailing.  It was an extra expense but I think it was worth it.  Also, it was important to me to have an invitation with my correct venue on it.   

When is your wedding?  Have you sent out STD's?  I think its worth your invites going out a week late to have all the correct info on them.

When is the wedding? I'd definitely do a new invite vs putting in a card with the real location because I guarantee some people will misplace the card or not read it and show up at the original location

Ditto pp, mine were £58 on vista print and came in 4 days flat.

You do need a new invitation.  Very easy to do.

I agree with everyone that you need a new invitation, but I am also wondering if this invitation is really to your wedding reception only, or to an AHR on a different day.  OP, where are you?

Absolutely OP - you NEED new invitations...  It sucks that it's money lost, but pretty invitations that are inaccurate can be repurposed for things like note cards... or writing down favorite recipes...

Agreed- get new (correct) invitations printed. No explanation on change of venue necessary.
