@beachyone15 we had typical bbq food, burgers, kebabs, corn on the cob... Only thing missing was hot dogs and bratwursts which highly disappointing but otherwise it was awesome! Your paintings look so pretty!!

I know I've been the biggest AW in the world lately but I am super duper excited right now and I want to yell it from the rooftops! I went from no trips except for Chicago this year to booking flights to Hawaii this summer and planning to roadtrip to GA for Thanksgiving! 

My cousin is moving to Oahu and I found a really good deal on flights so H and I are spending 8 nights there at the end of August! We don't have to pay for a place to stay so it's likely that this will be the cheapest opportunity for us to ever go there and it's on both of our lists! 

We've never spent a holiday with H's dad and sisters in GA and we haven't been there at all in 6-7 years, so we started talking about maybe going for Thanksgiving this year. H talked to FIL today and they're so excited to have us and we were both able to get the week off work!

This weekend was really nice! Saturday I spent the day with my sister and niece.  She's such an awesome baby.  Barely cries, sleeps through any noise, and when she's awake she's very alert.  After I left there, my mom came over to my house and I took her out to get her hair done.  After that we went to a greek restaurant and had spinach pie, souvalki, and a giant greek salad with extra grape leaves.  We also had baklava and some kind of honey custard for dessert, and the owners brought us an extra dessert because it was something new and they wanted us to try it.  It was a chocolate, vanilla, and cherry layered cake.  It was all so freaking good.

When I got home my best friend stopped over with her boyfriend.  So we drank and played board games the rest of the night.  

Yesterday I spent the day cleaning the dog, and the house.  After my bf got off work we went over to his parents.  His whole family was over, so it was nice to spend time with everyone.  When they left his mom asked him to play piano because she's writing a song.  Turns out she's writing it for his brother as a surprise for his wedding.   I thought that was super sweet, though I have no idea when she plans on singing it for him.

@cu97tiger - I'm sorry for the needle debacle.  Your comment on being PUPO made me smile so very large.  I have all the positive energy coming your way.  

@swazzle - Whooo hooo Hawaii!  AND Georgia.  You've got a lot to look forward to coming up!

@speakeasy14 - Yeah for good babies!    You hear so many horror stories about not sleeping, colic, etc. it is really nice to hear the good ones too.

Background: I'm on a FB page with women due in June.  I know Ani is coming out, truly I do, but people keep going into labor early around me and it is freaking me out today.  Today a third lady on the board I know is going to deliver (she is 2 weeks behind me) since her water just broke.  This is beyond stupid but I'm just starting to realize that this is happening soon.  Stupid because logical me knew that obviously and yet somehow it is just starting to feel real.  

Another random?  One of my H's friends wants to plan a get together soon and started the conversation with "so you guys will be all done with this pregnancy thing come June, lets get together mid-June then".  Ha! His wife correctly pointed out that once we are done with "this pregnancy thing" we will have "this baby thing" to work on for a bit.

@minskat30 Lol'ing at "this baby thing" you'll have very very soon. I'm excited that we're getting close too! It seems close and yet so far...I think if I focus on pulling all of the tools and junk out of the bathroom now that we're done using them I'll feel like we're suddenly a lot closer to really being done.

Will your doctor start doing cervical checks at your next appointment? That could maybe give you an idea on just how close Ani is to arriving!

ETA: I forgot to add that I just made my bathroom project even bigger. I decided that I hated the cabinet stain after I got the room painted so now I'm doing a linen chalk paint with a light wax. God help me...I'll probably hate the countertop when I'm done with that.

@labro - Yup, she checks it on Wednesday!  I was going to ask her to hold off on checking it since it doesn't tell you too much in reality but she is adamant about checking it and she isn't adamant about much...she just wants to confirm Ani is head down else she is going to try to flip her.  Ani was head down at the optional US we did at 32 weeks so I doubt she flipped but my doctor is so low-key normally about doing checks and so determined to do this one that I'll go along with it.  Also, STOP ADDING WORK to your plate.    You perfectionist, you.

@southernpeach89 & @Swazzle that's my youngest sister's dog. He wouldn't let her out of his sight. Now all is left is for Calla to meet her.  She's never been around babies, so we're putting off the introduction for a little.

Ugh. This weekend was kind of rough. I was at the office Friday and Saturday grading and writing more versions of finals (spoiler alert: I need one more version of one of them, even at this point). Yesterday was Mother's Day and my family celebrated my brother's and my birthdays. It wasn't as enjoyable for me as it otherwise might have been.

Oh, and I got thrown out of going to my brother's college graduation so that I can be available to go get a table at a restaurant rather than them making reservations. This is too stupid to make up.

Some restaurants won't give you a table without the whole party being there btw.

@labro, there are restaurants in town that take reservations. This is my brother/by extension my family being snowflakey. The restaurant he wants doesn't take reservations, but will give a table without the whole party.

I am off work today because I had my great nana's service. Weekend was great. The gift H got me is a new robe and it's soooo glorious and soft. My last one was worn to shit and has holes so this is perfect. 
I'm a fucking newb at the mothers day thing so I didn't know all breakfast places were reservation only! We went to 3 diners before finally finding one to serve us, delicious. Then we rented Thor 2 and H cooked dinner, it was a great day.
