Good morning, NEYers! How goes it on this fine Thursday?

I texted H first thing this morning and said "Thanks for being a drunk weirdo and getting me to dance with you 9 years ago " And since then, we've been reminiscing about our first night together, most of which is embarrassing/hysterical. Ah to be young again.

 Last night for dinner, H grilled steak and pineapple while I made a cucumber, tomato, and feta salad and it was all so good! I also baked chicken and roasted veggies for lunch today and tomorrow and I also made sweet potatoes in the crockpot overnight. We watched the GOT season 2 finale, I read for a little bit, and then headed to bed pretty early.

It is FREEZING today. Like, how is this even summer? It feels more like very early spring.

Tonight I'm going to see The Conjuring 2 with H and I'm excited for popcorn and and other yummy foods

@Swazzle Happy Anniversary! I love reminiscing with H. Sometimes I miss those times in college but other times I'm so happy my life isn't the shit show that it was back then. Have fun at the movie tonight!

Today is actually my Friday - H and I are leaving for SC after work today! I'm going to have a busy day trying to get everything done before I leave but hopefully I'll be able to pop in here and there. 

Looking forward to some sunny, warm weather with my friend. We don't have much planned yet so we'll play it by ear and see what we feel like doing when we're down there.

I am dragging ass so much today. My day off yesterday was awesome, I got to spend some time with BF before he left so it was fun. We went mini golfing and I beat him by one stroke! Then we ran some errands and got lunch together.

Last night we met up with the neighbors and another friend for dinner. The guys had planned to stay up all night, but then decided to try to nap. So we came home but BF was nervous about the trip so he wasn't able to sleep, so I wasn't able to sleep. The guys started arriving at our house at 1:30 and all 9 of them got picked up by the shuttle at 2:15 this morning. I tried to get back to sleep, but Tessie was whining all morning so I didn't get much sleep at all.

Then this morning Tess was sulking and I was petting her and I found a tick. It was the first one I have found so I kind of freaked out a bit (I screamed). I took care of the tick, then checked her for more and didn't find any. She was a few days late for her treatment, so I gave her that this morning too. I don't think I would have screamed/freaked if I wasn't so tired. 

I need a coffee IV today...

Yesterday I ordered H's anniversary present. 6/19 will be 8 years together. The last couple months, he hasn't been able to wear his ring because it's too tight. The other day, we were browsing a store and they had a ring made out of a state quarter, so I ordered him an Arizona state quarter ring (where we got married), and the year on it will be 2008, which is the year we started dating! It was inexpensive, so when his wedding ring fits again, I won't mind him not wearing it, but it will be a good stand in.

Last night H grilled balsamic chicken and asparagus. It was yum. I wish we'd had leftovers! (Oh shoot, I didn't even look in the fridge to see if there were leftovers! I guess those will be dinner tonight!). Then we spent some time outside with F+F and gave them Frosty Paws for their birthday. H was super nostalgic because yesterday was also the 4th anniversary of when our dog Casey passed away, so it's a bittersweet day.

This morning I went to Crossfit and I did the workout RX (as prescribed). It's only the second one in a year that I've done RX, so I'm pretty pumped! 29 days until vacation!!

Morning ladies! Today is my Friday too - WOOT. I'm working till about 230 today, and then heading out to Boston for my first big PR awards ceremony! Then I'm going to my BIL & SIL's house to stay overnight there, and then heading to CT tomorrow, because Saturday is SIL's baby shower! 

I haven't decided if I'm staying down there the whole weekend or not. I have to go back to CT on Monday for work, but I don't really want to spend ALL weekend at my ILs house. I'll see how I'm feeling on Saturday after the shower, I guess.

@LizzyTish88 - Fucking ticks. They're the WORST. Violet had one on her face a while back, and we got it out, but then it turned into a hot spot and got infected and it was awful. When H & I were driving home to Maine for Memorial Day, we stopped at a rest stop in Vermont to let the dogs out for a few minutes - it wasn't in the woods, we barely even went in the grass - and I was driving a little bit later and there was one on my hand and I freaked & just hit it off, instead of putting it out the window. I was so creepy crawly for the rest of the time.

@GoldenPenguin They are the worst!! Tess has only had one before, but it was the week we brought her home and the place we got her took care of it for us because we were stupid and didn't realize what it was. I just felt so stupid this morning cause I was petting her and felt something on her ear, pulled it off and then saw that it was a tick so I screamed and dropped it. Thankfully it landed on my skirt so I was able to get it back into the kitchen and into a container. I then had to text BF asking how to kill it and what I should do. I've felt creepy crawly all morning. It didn't look like it was latched or bloated so I don't think it got much, if anything but I will be keeping a close eye on it.

@LizzyTish88 Ugh ticks squick me out sooo much but at least it just came off!! I hate having to try to extract a tick that does not want to be evicted! Luckily Cinders has only ever had one and H took care of it.

I ended up getting to meet my old work colleague for dinner last night so that meant no chores, no mowing the lawn, just fun times and wine! She brought two other people from the company with her and they were so interesting and fun to talk to! I'm excited for Friday because she and I and my old boss are meeting up again to watch the Braves lose...except I really hope they win since they are playing the stupid Cubs.

Soooo since last night I didn't get anything done I really need to focus on picking up around the house tonight and not being a lazy bum.

Good morning! I'm ecstatic because today is my Friday! Headed to the beach after work today. H kissed me goodbye this morning and said he'd be lonely with out me. It was really cute. And kind of made me sad. But I'm still going.

We also booked our flights last night for Seattle/Portland in October! So excited for that! Neither one of us has been so it should be fun, and it'll be a different kind of trip for us (we have done a cruise, beach resort, and hiking/cabin stay). We said we wanted to take at least one vacation every year and I'm so thankful that we have been able to so far!
@AlPacina - Anything we absolutely cannot miss??

@swazzle - Ah! That movie looks so scary. And I've heard it's based on true events. Nope nope nope.
@PamBeesly524 - Have fun in SC! I haven't been, but it's definitely on my list of places to see.
@LizzyTish88 - Eww, I would have freaked out too!

H and I did an extended weekend in Seattle and it was NOT even close to enough!

@labro - We'll be in Seattle Monday-Thursday and in Portland Thursday-Saturday. We're also worried that we won't have enough time to do everything, but we couldn't take more than a week. I have a feeling we'll be constantly on the go the whole time but I think it'll be amazing! We're getting a city pass which should help, and staying downtown so we'll be close to everything.
My only real worry is public transportation. We aren't planning on renting a car because we've heard Seattle is so easy to get around. But it's weird to me because the city I live in is so spread out/doesn't have great transportation, so it's not something I'm used to.

@beachyone15 I feel ya! We didn't have any issue getting around Seattle though. I think we took an Uber one time because we were out there to attend a wedding, but otherwise we literally walked everywhere!

I recommend an Airbnb if you can! Hotels downtown were ridiculous!

Not a whole lot yesterday. The whole condo corp issue is cleared up and the sellers are paying it off - as they intended - but no one saw that clause. So we made an amendment and clarified, plus changed the date to sept 26th to give us extra time.
Not sure what it's like in the states, but if we got our keys on the 30th they never come in until 3pm-5pm and if that's our LAST day in the apartment, we don't have ANY time to clean. At least if we have a couple extra days to move things in, we can arrange stuff so we can clean as we move things.

Luckily things are going smoothly now!

After work we went to take a look at fridges and mattresses. Not bad pricing. We just want a basic fridge, good storage. Nothing fancy.

Mattresses are hard to figure out because Matt likes his softer and I prefer more firm. We actually found one that's a compromise for both of us! It was a miracle and the price wasn't stupid either! So we're going to go back closer to moving date to order them.


Tonight is cleaning. We have dishes, Matt needs to do a few things and we need to get the table cleared up. I think I may throw laundry in also

@swazzle – Wow, all of that food sounds incredible. I always love those Greek salads, but have yet to make one myself! I think that should change! Fingers crossed it warms up for you soon!

@cu97tiger – That ring looks super nice! My loser ex-BF actually did ONE sweet thing for me in our entire relationship and hand made a ring out of a Costa Rican coin. After we broke up I realized how little effort he really put into trying to make it look nice, plus it wasn’t smooth to wear, so I definitely tossed it! Haha.

@GoldenPenguin – Is it a fancy pants awards ceremony? Are you wearing something fabulous to it? Happy Friday!

@beachyone15 – There are tons of things you shouldn’t miss! Especially at least one meal in Portland with me because we’re going to Bistro Montage where they have tons of mac and cheese choices, and you can get cool things like alligator as the meat if you want. But seriously, how do you guys like to spend your vacations typically? Seattle does have an amazing bus system, some of which is under the streets of downtown.

A co-worker texted me last night and asked if I wanted to have her friend's ticket for the opera tonight. I'm typically not into opera, but they're doing Sweeney Todd right now, so I am definitely going! Her friend doesn't even want me to pay her back for it, so that sweetened the deal a ton.

I probably won't be going to see Motown next weekend because my friends had to change which night they're seeing the show and I really don't want to go by myself. I'm making a last ditch effort to give my ticket away, but weird coincidence, no one else wants to go to a show alone either!

Aaaaaand BF agreed last night to go with me to see Flight of the Conchords in two weeks! I waited a bit and the Stubhub prices have gone down a ton (probably only paying $5-10 more per ticket than I would have buying them from the venue) so I'm just going to bite the bullet. This is a bucket list item, and Eugene Mirman was recently announced as an opener! Shows galore!
