1st day of Summer!

I'm posting super early because I missed y'all last Friday! My Friday was psychotic day of meetings and errands and I'm glad it's over.

How was everyone's weekend?

Last Friday I managed to get some cleaning done around the house and then I had to go and buy food for Father's Day and wrap up DH's gift while he was working out and also buy a wedding gift in between all the meetings. That night I went to Happy Hour with my Mom's Group. I brought little caprese bites and we chatted while the babies crawled around and/or ran around lol. Callie had a great time crawling after the big kids. Afterwards I had time to go to CrossFit and watch OITNB with DH.

Saturday Callie had her last session of swim lessons  She will start doing them again probably towards the beginning of next year that way before the pool even opens she will get some practice in since she will be a lot older. We will repeat the same level obviously since she was so little this time so hopefully next time we will advance a bit more. Afterwards we went and had donuts with my Dad and @Labro and he opened his Father's Day gifts.

That night we went to a reception....not a wedding but a reception. The couple eloped in St. Croix about a month ago and held a reception this past weekend. It was a very casual low key evening....I told DH that I wouldn't have done it if we had eloped because all everyone did was just sit and talk. Kind of boring but @labro and her H babysat Callie for us so DH and I got a night out which was nice!

Sunday was Father's Day and I woke up and took care of Callie and Maddux and made DH tater tot breakfast casserole and he opened his gifts. DH had a bunch of work to get done with school and then had to go to work. So we didn't get to celebrate much yesterday. I was pretty tired from getting home late so Callie and I took two naps and relaxed most of the day.

Today I need to take Maddux to the vet to get his annual shots and I'll probably go to CrossFit tonight. I'm cooking Honey Mustard Chicken and Bachelorette is coming on!

Morning! My weekend was busy. 

Friday, I met my BFF in the city for pedis, dinner, and drinks. We shared a bunch of different plates and it was a really nice time! 

Saturday was H's birthday! I gave him cash specifically for his next few tattoos. Every time I ask what he wants, he says tattoos, and I really wanted to get him something I knew he'd love. He had a service appointment at VW and I had a stupid fucking dentist appointment. It was bad. I got 2 fillings months ago that have been giving me trouble since then so he drilled those out and then replaced them both with medicated fillings. Well, the bottom wouldn't respond to the Novocaine so I ended up with 2 injections up top and 5 on the bottom. I'm still swollen, my cheek is visibly bruised on the outside and it hurts. I fucking hate the fucking dentist! 

After that, H and I went out for Mexican. I had 2 large margaritas, popped 4 Ibuprofen, and then we took a nap. We met up with 2 of his friends and had dinner in the city followed by The Cure. It was a LONG show. Like, they came out and did 4 encores. By the 3rd, I was like ok maybe you should just stay out here and finish freaking playing your songs instead of doing a fake out every 15 minutes. We got home super late and I was exhausted. 

Yesterday, we got up and immediately headed to DE. My grandmom had bypass surgery this week and came home yesterday afternoon and I got to see my dad for Father's Day. We stopped to see SFIL on the way home, got ice cream, and I was sooooo ready for bed! 

I need a weekend to recover from my weekend and it'd be great if I didn't look like a chipmunk anymore

@Swazzle Ugh I hate that for you. The dentist sucks! I hope the swelling and bruising start to go down soon. Besides that it sounds like you had a fun weekend! I hate encores lol. I always get so annoyed when they do more than one lol.

@southernpeach89 Sounds like you had a fun weekend! My friend is doing a similar wedding this summer, so we'll see how it goes. They are doing a private ceremony and then a big reception the next day. Your dinner sounds sooooo good!

Friday night the Comcast guy came over. I was skeptical at first because he looked 15 but he was probably early 20s and very knowledgeable. He fixed everything and we are good to go on cable. Later we went out to dinner with my cousin at one of our old hangout spots and it was fun.

Saturday was my best friend's wedding shower. It was a jack and jill at a seafood place with an open bar. It was a little awkward at first since BF and I didn't really know anyone, but after some drinks everyone opened up and we ended up chatting with a group of people and it was a great time. BF ate his seafood heart out! That night we stayed in and watched more GOT.

Yesterday we did our chores around the house. I cleaned the inside and BF worked on the lawn. We went to my parents for dinner, and my mom invited BF's mom and uncle, and my step-dad's sister and daughter. It was a good time. BF did have a little moment because he was missing his dad, but he said overall it was a good time.

@LizzyTish88 I don't know...I feel like if they had done the reception closer to when they eloped maybe it would have felt more like a wedding but it has been almost 2 months later and it felt like we just went out to dinner with the couple instead of a reception.

Hey guys!

I've been MIA the last couple weeks, sorry I haven't been around! I have nothing fun to talk about because the only reason I've been gone is because school is kicking my ass. I'm in my last week of these miserable classes that I hope I'll pass, and I have another one that starts in a week. After that, I only have ten classes to finish my degree and it can't come fast enough!!

I DO have some pretty fantastic news though, BF got into his choice nursing school! It's close, it's a great school and super competitive so I am really proud! Knowing this means we now know when he will graduate, which gives us a better estimate of when we will be moving in together! Finally! 

I've also started taking competitive obedience classes with Coraline, which have been fun and a challenge. I like it.

@untouchablets Congratulations to your BF on getting into nursing school! The university I attended has one of the top nursing schools in our state and a lot of my friends went to it. I know how hard it is so that's a big accomplishment!

Morning all! I had a great weekend. Friday night H and I tried out a restaurant in Boston that I'd heard good things about (Boston folks - It's called Picco and it's amazing). We put our name in and grabbed a drink at a funky bar down the way while we waited... Then we got a delicious app (avocado hummus bruschetta) and then shared a pizza. When it came time to pick dessert, I asked the waiter how big the ice cream sampler was and he said "it's 3 half scoops". At the exact same time as I said "oh perfect I'll do that" he said "It's a good dish to share". H and i burst out laughing cause I totally got it for myself.

It was delicious and I regret nothing.

Saturday a friend from college came to visit for the night. We met up with another one of our friends who lives in Boston and went to the indoor farmers market and bought a mess of stuff to eat in the park for lunch - salads ,a sandwich to share and doughnuts to split and share. So good! It was great to be outside and catch up. That night we played board games and made homemade pasta for dinner.

Sunday we went out for a delicious brunch and then played dominoes outside for awhile since it was so nice out. H went golfing with his dad so I didn't see him until late. We watched GoT and then passed out.

Annnnnd this morning I got all the way to work and realized I left my computer at home. Took me an hour to go back and get it and get back to work. Hoping the rest of the day goes a little smoother!

Good morning. I had a great weekend and I am NOT ready to be back at work. Plus, Facebook was all braggy about it being the first day of summer. Saw that as I was walking into my cold, sad office this morning. Boo.
Anyway, Friday was date night so H and I tried a new Mexican food place that was awesome. I couldn't decide what margarita to get so I got the "trio" which was 3 small ones. Then we went to see Finding Dory. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really like it. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, Dory kind of started getting on my nerves, and honestly, the whole thing just had a sad undertone to it. So it won't be one I watch again.
Saturday I helped my bff re-paint her house since she's moving. She only rented for 1 year but painted 4 rooms (all of which needed 2 coats of paint, ugh). Then I went home, took a hot shower, and ate pizza with H.
Sunday we picked up our groceries, which was the best experience of my life. HEB has a new program where you order your groceries online, pay $5 to have someone shop for you, then go pick them up at the store. They even load your car for you so you don't have to get out. I totally went in my pjs and it was awesome. Then H and I went home, cleaned up the house, and had my family over for burgers. I think my dad really liked his gift and everyone had a great time. Looking forward to this week going by fast!

@southernpeach89 - Sounds like you had a great weekend. I'm looking forward to the Bachelorette also!
@swazzle - Ugh, I'm sorry. That sounds rough. Maybe you just need a few more margaritas tonight.

Morning friends!! My weekend was not nearly long enough. I also need a weekend to recover from my weekend. 

Saturday morning H & I got up & drove down to Mystic. One of his friends from home lives in Arizona, but is visiting with her twins, so we went over to the cottage she's renting on the water & hung out with them for a couple hours. It was really nice to see her & the girls are absolutely adorable. 

H's mom & stepdad were doing a chicken BBQ at their church, so we stopped by to see how that was going, and got dinner, which was DELICIOUS. H's mom makes the most amazing lemon meringue pie, I was in heaven. We all stayed up to watch the finale of the OJ: Made in America 30 for 30, which was so good. I can't even believe some of the stuff they talked about and showed. 

Yesterday morning we got up SO EARLY (WAAHH - I like to sleep in on Sundays) and had breakfast, then hung out by the pool which was amazing. Then we went to lunch for Father's Day and I got my second lobster roll in as many weeks. I love living in the Northeast. (I would love to say New England, but since I don't TECHNICALLY live in New England... Hopefully someday.) 

We got home, gave Bruschi his Dramamine, hung out for a bit while it kicked in, and then drove home - and he made it w/no puking!! This is the first trip he hasn't puked in either direction. H & I ordered wings for dinner and watched the first three episodes of OITNB (OMG SO GOOD.) 

@swazzle - I hope your face feels better soon! Does knowing you get to see me in FOUR DAYS help?? 

@southernpeach89 - As mod, I'm instituting a rule that if you talk about Callie, you must include a picture. It's only fair.

Today is my first day of summer vacation! WOOHOO!!! Friday was our last day and it went by so fast because there were award ceremonies and lots of cleaning. When it came time to dismiss everyone, I had a few students get a bit teary. They are really scared of 7th grade...but I reminded them that I will still be there at the school and to come and say hi whenever they want. That made those kids feel a bit better. After school ended, I loaded my car and hit the road #peaceout

Friday night we went out to eat for my H's bday with his family. We had delicious sushi! Saturday was my H's actual birthday. He worked on a project in the morning and then when he got home we went out shopping and then dinner at this awesome wings place. We ordered way too many wings because we wanted to try all of the flavors! Lots of left overs, which was fine by me. 

Yesterday we went out to eat with my dad by the water. We had chowder, clamcakes, steamers, lobster rolls...pretty much everything. My dad loved it, so it was a success! Today I have zero plans- might go to Trader Joe's for some snacks or give myself a pedi. Day 1 is going great so far

My weekend was pretty alright...although it definitely went by wayyy too quckly! Saturday was donuts with my family for an early Father's Day, then H and I did some shopping and I literally found the best ever sports bra at the Under Armour outlet and didn't have to pay a fortune for it! The struggle is real in big boobie land with proper fitting, supportive sports bras and I am just so so shocked that I found something that 1. Fit without boobs trying to escape everywhere and 2. Felt GOOD even when I jumped up and down. Like it was actually a miracle or something.

After shopping we went over to @southernpeach89 's house and got to babysit Callie!!! She was sooo good and she demonstrated her latest trick of walking across the living room while holding on to her pushtoy thing. Then we went for a long long walk to pick up a pizza and then it was Callie's dinner time!!

I made her scrambled eggs and she loved them! She was doing her best to stuff whole fistfuls in her face.

Of course, trying to fit a fistful of egg in your face doesn't work out so well...so we had some helpers.

After dinner it was playtime for a few minutes and then bath time...and you guys...I definitely passed a threshold and deserve some sort of freaking gold star because I got PEED ON! I was carrying her naked to the bathtub when she just decided the cool breeze felt good on her privates and let go all over my shirt. Oh well! I immediately texted @minskat30 after Callie went to bed and asked her if she'd been peed on yet...which of course she's already been peed on, pooped on, and puked on...the P Trifecta I guess, all within 24 hours! So I guess she deserves an even bigger gold star than me!

Sunday H and I just relaxed all day long...except then I woke up this morning and looked at the laundry that didn't get done and the cleaning I could have done and now I am annoyed with myself for allowing myself to be a bum.

Good Morning!
I am so tired this morning. I stayed up to watch the NBA championship game last night. I'm not a huge sportsfan but Cleveland winning a championship is such a huge deal for us Ohioans and all anyone can talk about today. I stayed up until almost Midnight and then baby AJ had a blow-out diaper at about 4am wich required me to change everything and her to be wide awake!

This weekend was good. Friday we had friends over for a cookout. (marinated steak kabobs, grilled veggies, potatoes and salad. Everything turned out yummy. I put baby down to sleep around 9pm and we played cards and enjoyed a few adult beverages.

Saturday I woke up concerned about AJs cradle cap (she's had it since birth) it looked really red and irratated so we took her to the clinic. They prescribed Dandruff shampoo and an ointment. Then we headed to a garage sale I had seen listed on a FB garage sale site. I found a few clothes and toys. We didn't really do to much the rest of the day. I gave H his fathers day presents (bag of Peanut M&M's, framed picture of baby AJ and new dress shirt)

Sunday H worked a double so I brought AJ and My dog, Myka down to my parents house. We had burgers then took Myka to the dogpark while my Mom watched AJ. Then I went home and watched the CAVS game. Poor H was still at work but able to watch from his office. He called me the last 10 minutes and we celebrated together.

labro haha, I always carry AJ from the changing table to the tub with a cloth diaper over her privates for that reason.

@500days The dogs were hilarious. Maddux already knows the drill but once Cinders finally realized what was going on she wouldn't leave Callie's side! Callie kept leaning over and looking down at the dogs and smiling. She hasn't figured out how to deliberately give them food yet but I think it's coming!

@Swazzle UGH STUPID DENTIST! That sounds so awful and painful. It sounds like you still enjoyed your weekend though, which is great. I'm glad your H had a great birthday-- please post pics of his tattoo after he gets it! Is he adding to his sleeve? I'm really glad your mom is OK and is home now.

Monday's aren't so bad when you work from home.  

This weekend was great! Friday night we grabbed dinner at Freebird's and watched the first 4 episodes of Orange Is The New Black. We laughed so hard!

I was supposed to go to brunch on Saturday with my cousin and a mutual friend, but our friend's daughter got sick the night before, and I really needed to log in and do some work this weekend, so we cancelled brunch. On Saturday I woke up, went to the gym, and then came home and worked for about 3 or 4 hours. Afterwards we went to our friend's apartment and hung out with him and his girlfriend. We cooked a steak dinner with delicious sides, smoked hookah, and made up a drinking game for The Office. It was so much fun! 

On Sunday I was surprisingly not hungover, which worked out because we had brunch plans with the ILs for Father's Day. We went to this really delicious restaurant that had a great patio. I ordered migas, and oh my god they were so good that I'm still thinking about them a day later. 

Afterwards H and I ran errands and then we laid on the couch for a few hours and watched more Orange Is The New Black. I think we're on episode 9 now. 

H cooked dinner, and then around 9:30 our friend showed up to watch Game of Thrones. Man oh man, that was an exciting episode! I'm so sad we only have one more episode left this season and then only 13 more in total. Now if only George RR Martin could announce the publication date for the next book...

Almost forgot to mention that the recruiter got in touch with me this weekend to schedule my final interview. They want me to come in tomorrow at 1pm. The interview will last an hour and a half, and I'll be speaking with two managers and then shadowing someone currently in the position. To avoid suspicion, I'm going to take a half day tomorrow. H and I have tickets to see Dream Girls tomorrow night anyway, so I can truthfully tell my boss I'm taking a half day to get ready, board Zoey, figure out a dinner plan, fight traffic, etc. I'm soooo relieved I don't have to flat out lie to my boss.

@eilis1228 - I'm only through Episode 3 of OITNB, and it's SO funny!! I've found myself laughing so much. I know H will want to watch some stuff off the DVR tonight (John Oliver takes all precedent) but I hope we'll get to watch at least one or two!! GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!

@500days - What are your most fun summer vacation plans this year?

@labro - My grandmother loves to tell the story about when my mom was little, and they had a boxer named Pete (which is funny in it's own right), and he would sit next to her high chair when she was eating. My grandmother would give her a piece of toast, and she would feed it to Pete crumb by crumb, literally pulling tiny tiny pieces off and putting them in his mouth, and then cry when it was all gone. Pete loved it though!

@GoldenPenguin @southernpeach89 I don't remember laughing this much in previous seasons. It's so good! H and I had to stop and refresh ourselves on story lines a few times too. H and I didn't anticipate watching so many episodes this weekend, but it was so good and we couldn't stop! We kept saying, "Ok, just one more episode..." and then that episode would end on a cliff hanger, so we'd watch another, and so on and so forth.

@labro Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. Our friend won 4 tickets through his job, so he opted to make it a double date with us. Can't say no to free tickets!

@beachyone15  Walmart has same idea. I've debated on it, but honestly I like to browse. Sometimes I plan "oh gonna buy pork chops!" then realize they're much thinner than anticipated so I change my mind.


This weekend was hot hot hot.
Got boxes on Friday and I picked up shampoo my friend was holding for me, then instead of cooking we decided to go get sushi.

Saturday I saw my mum for a few hours, and Matt took our table to get fixed. Found out my uncle is not only gonna fix the table, but they're gonna restain it and everything! It so needs it, so I'm excited. We talked briefly about stain, but I want to see what the natural wood looks like before deciding.

That night I went with a friend to a party, and I really wish I hadn't said yes.
I only had 2 drinks, but she was loaded. I didn't know anyone there so I felt awkward and more uncomfortable than anticipated. Matt had gone to a friend's place {where I wish I had gone ...} and left early because I needed to get my friend home.

Unfortunately, all my plans for Sunday had to be cancelled because I got so badly sick. I think something just didn't agree with me because I would not stop being sick. Matt got me gravol and ginger ale and basically slept once my stomach settled.
I was so pissed. I had plans.

This week starts our summer hours on Fridays. Instead of closing at 5pm, we're closing at 3pm. So luckily some plans I had with my mum I can do on Friday. Just sucks so bad. I'm feeling much better today, and started feeling better after gravol and lots of rest.

@GoldenPenguin This summer I have nothing set in stone for plans. I always do a OOB weekend trip, Red Sox game and some beach days. Last year was crazier with the wedding/honeymoon. If you have suggestions for day trips definitely send them my way!

@labro  I have a strong feeling that Cinders will jump for joy whenever you guys see Callie lol #cousinlove 

@eilis1228 You guys are zipping through OITNB! I think we are on episode 3? I try to make these series drag on forever since I never want them to end.

@500days It was totally unintentional lol. We had the free time, and the episodes kept ending on cliffhangers. We would seriously say, "OK, after this episode we're going to stop watching and clean or something," and then after the episode ended we'd say, "OK well maybe just one more..." and suddenly four hours have gone by and we're still on the couch watching TV. LOL

@speakeasy14 We could continue doing them for the rest of the Summer but we will be on vacation or out of town for a lot of weekends coming up so for the cost it wouldn't be worth it. It won't be a full year until the beginning of the next set of lessons...more like 6 months. They begin next January and go until March so it would be perfect timing before it starts to get warm out. Also she will be older and might understand more when I tell her to blow bubbles or kick her feet.
