Ugh on my tablet, which is making it a pain in the ass to tag people.  Labro-- please post the book club list for next year! LizzyTish--I swear kids growing up is the one thing that makes me feel ancient and then nostalgic. School started here last week, and seeing my friends' kids and my niece and nephews start school was so fun. 

Re: the night of. I haven't watched it yet, but my CWs love it and highly recommend it. Interesting to hear that a lot of you aren't as in love with it. Hmmmmm.

Beachyone--yaaaay for new roof! So glad the HOA approved it. 

As for me...
new job is going well. It keeps me busy, but in a good way.

 H and I booked our trip to Hawaii, so we are officially going!!! My parents are paying for our room at their time share resort, so all we have to pay for is food. Can't say no to that offer. 

We we are also hoping/planning to get Zoey a new sibling next week! We have our eye on a few pups and need to contact the rescues to make sure they're available and see about a play date to make sure they get along with zobo. 

This is weekend I stupidly/nicely volunteered to host a going away party for a friend. She's moving to Maryland next month for a job, and she already moved out of her apartment. I only know a handful of her friends, so it should be interesting lol. 

To those of you who wear fitbits: I bought a Garmin vivosmart hr over the weekend, and I'm in love. It's amazing. It's similar in appearance to the charge hr, but it has all the features of the blaze for less money. It's also waaaaay more accurate. The only thing it doesn't have is the thriving social community that Fitbit has.

@eilis1228 Is that the one that has the GPS function built into it? I have a Garmin for my GPS watch for running, and a separate fitness tracker for steps, etc. It's a pain to wear two and I would LOVE to get the Garmin that has it all in one next time I have some extra cash!

Mine doesn't have gps built in, but there is a version of it that has it. I don't run so that wasn't a big deal for me. But yes, they have an option that would have everything you need all in one tracker.

@speakeasy14 - I haven't! I've only been to Aldi once and I didn't love it so I didn't go back. Apparently I need to give it another try though?

@Swazzle I won't buy their meats, but their fruits and veggies are cheapest.  Brie is also super cheap, so whenever I make my brie torts I get it from them. I also love their cranberry chicken salad, pretzel chips, and now beet hummus.

Day 2 of new furnace and A/C and I think the install is done now! It's so quiet. Like spookily quiet.

I had lectures today, so that was most of today's energy. H had gaming tonight but apparently something blew up at his office and it seems fairly nuclear (see what happens when he uses his PTO? (thank you H for covering because I have none)). I don't think we'll be gaming anymore.

Last night we had HC chicken pad thai and it was awesome. Tonight we have HC Moroccan spiced chicken with eggplant and I think I am the only one looking forward to it. I already had to tell H he didn't have to eat the eggplant (his family prepared an eggplant once when he was a kid and no one could leave the table until the whole thing was gone. Apparently this was the mother of all eggplants.).

@KeptInStitches - The Swazzle Family is back on Home Chef starting tomorrow and I'm SO excited! I'm dumb and only ordered 2 meals this week but we're getting Buffalo Turkey Meatball Salad and Salmon with Summer Veggies.

@swazzle, it's not so bad. Getting harder to eat pre-packaged foods since it leads to standing in grocery store aisles reading labels, but ... I mean, it's a few kinds of cheese. There's still a lot of stuff I can eat!

@KeptInStithces I missed the update that you were getting your HVAC replaced. I thought it was just going to be a repair?

TBH, I LOVED when our HVAC was replaced. The new units were SO quiet and our energy bills have dropped significantly. They practically pay for themselves!

We're keeping the house a similar color. It's currently a gray/sage green color with creamy white trim. We have a black-green roof and forest green shutters so it's really tough to coordinate many colors with. I like some other neutral colors but the problem is is our most immediate neighbors are already painted in those colors and I don't want our home to blend in and be too similar to everyone else.

@labro, repair had been the plan. They repaired the A/C two weeks ago, but then it broke again within a week and the second time the compressor had seized up. Since both units are 19 years old, we opted for a replace. Blargh.

@KeptInStitches It does suck but think about how AWESOME the new efficiencies are! Our heater was at least as old as the house...the model was actually marked with 1970something even though our house was built in 1988 and the A/C was around 15 years old. The cost does suck but I promise that the bills will be a little bit easier to swallow going forward.
