My best friend is getting married, and we are trying to find a dress that fits within their tight budget. If anyone knows any legitimate sites to find cheap dresses please let me know!! Also it would need to be able to be shipped to Alaska. Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Re: Discount Dress Sites- Help!!
Go to a department store, or order online from target or old navy. Ive worn $30 bridesmaids dresses from target and my rehearsal dinner was a dress I got from old navy 7 years earlier. Both were gorgeous.

Pearl's Place does not accept returns unless there is something wrong with the dress, and they recommend having the ladies try on a sample dress before ordering. They also need complete measurements, not just size.

I'm not positive if David's ships to AK, but they have many bridesmaids dresses available in white that are reasonable and beautiful as well.
JC Penny, Macy's, Sears, Nordstrom... And - David's Bridal all are options. David's has many clearance dresses that she can save a TON purchasing, they're a reputable company. Being on a tight budget doesn't mean she has to sacrafice a beautiful gown!
When it comes to the companies overseas, the challenge is this "buyer beware". Yes, I've ordered from a couple of them (after doing the research especially looking at "what I ordered vs. what I got" and had decent experiences, but before ordering I knew it was at my own risk, and I have had a couple things flop but I knew the risk before I purchased (I'm plus-size so I ordered something custom measurements for me and while for my niece her dress turned out great, mine, being plus-size, not so much, I'd been better to order one of their "rack" sizes). I also had some of the same expenses I'd otherwise have (pressing/steaming the formal gowns I purchased, alterations, etc). I have no reservations ordering a formal gown from there since other than David's, I can never go to any bridal salon and have dresses to try on so it's a gamble in the first place, but I'd never purchase my wedding gown that way..
I DID order my wedding gown from an overseas company and it was a fantastic experience. However, I strictly used Ebay, where it would be more difficult to fake reviews.
I went in knowing it was a gamble. Honestly, even though I sent them my measurements and height, I was still expecting to spend a fortune in alterations. But I'm plus-sized and only 5'0", so that would have happened from wherever I bought it!
But the merchant I used had a dress I loved for $200 and a couple hundred positive reviews. So I gave it a shot. It fit perfectly right out of the box, no alterations needed. It was beautiful and even the satin fabric used had a nice "heft" to it. It was strapless and had a bodice so well constructed that even my size DD girls didn't need any bra help (though I did wear a corset under it just to make sure there was proper support all day/night long).
With all that said, if I couldn't have afforded to lose that $200 if it had been an utter disaster, I would not have gone that route.
It did arrive super, super wrinkled and I spent (I think) $60 or $80 getting it pressed at a dry cleaner's. But I've heard that is sometimes true for dresses picked up from bridal stores anyway.
I police Ebay looking for fake Hermes scarves because I have the knowledge. I see about two fakes a week. I contact the dealers and tell them that their scarf is a fake, and ask them to end the listing. 95% of sellers do this, and thank me for the warning, but about 5% ignore me and sell the fake to some poor buyer for $$$. I do report them, but I have no idea if Ebay follows up.

Also, many of their bridesmaid's dresses come in ivory, silver, gold, blush and would make suitable wedding dresses.
If she orders online, she should read the fine print. Some of the dresses aren't returnable.
