Buddhist ceremony

My fiancé and I have decided on a Buddhist ceremony and want a very simple wedding. In our planning, we are stumbling over what theme the reception should have. Basically, we don’t have any clue. Has anyone had a Buddhist ceremony and what was your reception theme? Or, have you been to a Buddhist wedding?

Re: Buddhist ceremony

  • If you MUST have a theme (and you don't have to have one), you could go with something nature-oriented, or the elements.  You could also go an Asian route, or an Indian route, or earth-toned.
  • I guess it depends on what you mean by "Buddhist"- is there a particular Buddhist temple you regularly attend, and if so, what tradition is it? As for themes, I agree with the other comments, you don't necessarily need a theme, but things like compassion, community, etc are always good!
