I was sitting on the couch, scrolling IG, waiting for the "I've landed" text from DH when he walked through the door. I love my alone time but the house feels happier now that he is home. he brought me candy from the US and ugly earrings from the Grand Canyon.

I have my riding lesson tonight, Dubai tomorrow and as much bcbc as we can fit in. Maybe Chinese for dinner?

I'm so glad you posted this, because I was just thinking "Is there a Tuesday post?  Should I start one?"  Uh, it's actually Wednesday.  D'oh!

Work has been busy, which is good.  I was sort of bored, but we have a new boss now and we're actually working on some good stuff.  It's seriously cutting into my Knot time, though.   Yesterday we were in a meeting from 11:00 - 1:00 and I swear I was afraid people were going to hear my stomach growling.  Then at 1:00 we had to watch a video of our new CEO giving a speech, which was exactly as exciting as it sounds.  I inhaled half a yogurt on the way, like I was in an eating contest or something.  I finally got to eat my salad during a conference call after--thank you, mute button!

Also checking in for news of babysparklepants, looks like nothing yet?

Leaving for the beach in a couple of weeks.  I don't love FIL's condo, but it is right on the beach.  And it's free.  And DH says FIL's feelings would be hurt if we went and didn't stay there.  I'd be at least as happy going somewhere else, but I also think it's kind of #FWP to complain about your free beach accommodations, so...  I kind of want to hire short+sassy to come in and gut it and totally redo it, though. 

This is the time of year when my animal instincts kick in and I start prepping for fall.  I think it must be the shorter days or something.  I have like 20 house projects I want to do, and I'm pinning crockpot recipes like a madwoman.

@Heffalump sometimes I want to start a thread and then I am like "wait, is it today yet in the US??" Living in the "future" is weird, lol. Please share crockpot recipes because I feel ya. I was about to make this heavy soup when I realized it is still 46*C outside and no body wants soup. But it is almost football season soooo......

Anniversary was good. My card was funny, where as M's was really sweet I love when he gives sweet cards because he's not the "i'm telling you how much you mean to me all the time because you know" kind of guy {seems pretty typical though} but when he gives cards they're always thoughtful in the "you mean so much to me" sense. Always teary lol!

We went for fancy ice cream and I couldn't finish mine. So much! Good price but horrible parking if you're not from the area. It's right by a park/splash pad, it was pretty busy also.
The ice cream was good. Lots of flavours and the options were good. I'm lame with flavours so idc much but M likes fun flavours. Lol! {we're secretly children, ssh!}

M got offered an option to go to Miami in September for a conference since he'll be dealing with a certain program soon. Of course he's all interested, and now super excited. I told him "don't jump the gun in case it doesn't work out"

Well this morning he found out he's actually going and he'll be gone a week because the conference is 3 days.
We're telling my mum this and she's like "Oh you'll be gone for Kitty's bday"
Me: Uhm ... my bday is the 7th ...

My mother is horrible with birthdays!! In her defense, she was due on the 14th. It's a running joke because only bday she knows is M's bday because of the movie "Con Air" lol

I'm also ready for fall to show up.  Bring on the boots.  We also have a bunch of house projects.  I want to paint and rearrange our living room.   

I'm stalking the weather for a week and a half from now.  We're supposed to go to my friend's parent's house (they live on a lake and have all the toys), but right now it's supposed to be mid-70's and rain.  I hope it changes. 

I heard a work-related thing yesterday...I'm curious to see if it's true.  I'll know by tomorrow, I guess. 

I've had zero motivation to plan/make dinner this week.  Every day it's just like, "MEH!".  We have food, but I'm bored with it.

I'm still in sandal mode over here! I love boots and fall, but I feel like all of my summer was taken up with interview and moving that I didn't get to enjoy it. Also when did August happen?!

Having H back is so nice; work has been crazy so when I came home last night he had grocery shopped and made a menu for me to pick what I want him to cook and had choices of pre and post dinner activities (choices were BCBC, Yoga, and dog walk; I chose 1 and 3). And he agreed to watch Fixer Upper. He starts work Monday so he's doing all the running around stuff with the apartment I haven't had time to do. It's pretty great.

Work is making me feel stupid.  I have had zero training on the new system and can't make it do what I need.  There are 3 training videos that I don't have access to.  Nobody seems to have access to them actually.  I know they asked my input eons ago, but they didn't explain how this was going to be used and they hadn't actually entered any information to show me what it would look like.  Now it's live and I'm fucked.  A group of interns did it and they go back to school soon too.

I had a ton of bratwurst leftover from the weekend so I made a double batch of bratwurst stew and froze it.  I'm ready for fall, but I need one more HOT week next week.  It's the last full week before school and I want the kids to spend it at the pool.

I'm also ready to get the info on teachers, coaches, schedules, my class list.

Same! We've had so much rain this summer that it barely feels like we've had summer

@Heffalump, work has picked up for me too. And my friend said the same thing.  Sounds positive all around.  I like being kept busy (I'm waiting for reports to run, which is why I'm knotting). 
@MissKittydanger, you have tiger tiger ice cream, no?  I had H tasted it when he was in Winnipeg, and he LOVED It.  I remembered loving it from my childhood too.  Almost worth the $600 flight to Canada for tiger tiger ice cream! LOL.  Usually I'm the "funny" card writer in the house too!

Yesterday H and I went to see Dunkirk and then went out to Nando's Chicken after.  First time there.  I liked the food.  LOVED the freestyle drink machine (please, all restaurants -  get freestyle!) and really loved the fact that calories were indicated by food so I could plan and track my cals.  Super disappointed in the fact that they were out of fro yo.  Like more disappointed than I should be.

Now, on to Dunkirk.  Great movie and all, but I felt stupid and sorta lost through it.  I was able to follow it - I just don't remember much of my wwii facts.  Or to be honest - many historical facts.  I learn them.  They sink in for a bit (like if I need it for a test).  Then they go out.  I feel my memory is good with every day things I do, but as far as history goes, I really can't absorb and remember people, places and things.  Anyone else like this?

PG only woke up twice last night and went right back to sleep after I gave her her pacifier! Apparently, Mouse woke up twice but I slept through it. I feel bad when I do that. 

I finally sold a dresser last night that I've been trying to sell for 2 or 3 months. It cleared up so much space in the garage. I have a wine fridge and a nightstand to sell so I need to get them listed. H said he's going to clean out the garage this weekend so he can park his truck in there. I'm not holding my breath.

SSDD otherwise.

I'm trying to WFH today but Rosie is posted up on my lap and doesn't want to move. I could lift a 57 lb dog but it is it necessary?

@mrsconn23 I'm doing the same for this weekend. It's 78/55 with chances of rain each day. I love the high since I'd probably die in 90 degree weather, but the lows mean we'll need to start each day with a jacket that we later have to carry and I really really hope it doesn't rain. Our work donated pink hats and binder clips (you clip your rain poncho to the brim of the hat to keep your face dry) so I'm prepared I guess if it does. 

Other than that I have zero motivation this week. I still need to wax my eyebrow, have a barber fade out my overgrown undercut, pack (might be a big deal) and pick up my BC so I can skip the period scheduled for Saturday. Oh yeah and work since I'm slammed and taking two days off. I'd rather cuddle the pup though. 

I had a follow up meeting with the potential new job too. We finally came to the same page on the job description but I'm not sure we will on money. I suggested an alternate payment structure for the first 6 months while I build my customer base and he asked me to submit the numbers (larger salary, smaller commission that gradually becomes lower salary, larger commission after 6 months). But those first few months salary will be much higher than what he offered so we'll see.

SSDD over here. Just glad it's Wednesday. I have my annual evaluation at work today, so everyone pray that my self-important, curmudgeony boss sees some good in me! lol!

Tiger tail is the actual name but yes same thing I hate licorice so I don't eat it.

@southernbelle0915 I sincerely hope your boss sees your worth. Mine never did and only ever gave me raises because HIS boss made him! I am a prime example of people don't quit jobs, they quit bad managers.

Today is 18 years since I had open heart surgery. I always notice the date but this year its really hitting me, making me angry at the first Dr. that I had who brushed me off because of my age (32) telling me it was just stress.

If any of you have heart symptoms then advocate for good care, women are often misdiagnosed. My second Dr. had me take a stress test, arteriogram and admitted to the hospital for surgery all within a few days. Don't ignore your body!

M isn't the sappy kind of person, so typically I don't get him those kind. SOMETIMES there is a meaningful card that is funny and sweet. He's so hard to buy cards for *side eye*

Yesterday, I grabbed that link from Overstock for the sheets and suddenly the ads next to my email were for sheets. I hate it. I just want real cookies. 

Speaking of real cookies...a friend of mine is starting a cookie truck. I had her peanut butter chocolate chip cookies this weekend and they had such a beautiful texture, not overly peanut buttery, perfectly cooked. I could have eaten a dozen.

Counterpoint, Leaves is the best scent and will get you in the mood for fall, boots, bonfires, and spiked apple cider.

Luckily, I have never really loved B&BW; however yesterday somehow I managed to spend only $6.38 in Target.  I was so shocked and weirded out to pay in cash.  I mean I knew I only had flip flops and hair ties, but still.  My cookies lately have been for comfortable shoes, while my googling and shopping has been for things like moleskin and blister treatment.  The interwebs just know I'm about to have ugly sore feet.

@DrillSergeantCat thanks!  It's a walk - I can barely jog a mile let alone 60!
