Hi there! My FI and I are getting married in spring 2019 and have just started researching venues. We are currently living in Georgia but are from Maine and our families (including parents) are primarily in New England, so we'd like to get married up north. Since we live so far, we're trying to keep site visits minimal (so we can do them all in one week when we come up to visit). So, we're trying to narrow down our search. So far, our top two are Sebasco Harbor Resort in Phippsburg and Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor. Both of these venues do have reviews online, but a majority of the reviews are from a few years ago. Does anyone have personal experience planning or attending a wedding with either of these venues? What were some positives/ negatives/ overall experience?
In case it helps, we're looking to do a RD, ceremony, reception/ cocktail hour, and farewell brunch at the same venue. We'd like on-site accommodations, activities available for guests, and an oceanfront ceremony. Both of these venues are within our budget.
