Wedding band help?

I am having a really difficult time picking out a wedding band that I like. I have a 1.8mm band on my engagement ring, and it's proving difficult to find a wedding band that is similarly thin and not custom. The cost for a custom band to match my ring is ridiculous (over $1200) so I'd like to avoid it. I'm also considering getting a 1.8mm plain gold band but I'm not in love with the ones I've tried on.

I've tried the following:

2. https://imgur.com/jKptMGP

3. https://imgur.com/PGekXhO

I think the third is my favorite, but I'm honestly still not even sure I should get something with stones in the band. Thoughts?

Re: Wedding band help?

  • 2 &3 are my favorites but I think a plain gold band would look beautiful too.

  • Two is my favorite. I feel like the others compete with the e-ring too much. A gold band would be nice too.
  • Two is my favorite as well, but I agree a simple gold band would be nice as well. I think one and three compete with the ering a bit too much for me.
  • Another vote for two. It complements your e-ring and doesn't overpower it, while at the same time it doesn't get overpowered by your e-ring either. Gorgeous!

I have worn a plain gold band for 41 years.  It has worn beautifully, and no stress about loosing stones.  It never goes out of style.  I like it when traveling to foreign countries where I might not want to wear my e-ring, too.

They are all beautiful bands- I like option 1 or 2 best, I think 3 is a bit over-powering. But I also agree that a plain gold band would be gorgeous too. (Your e-ring is stunning!)

My e-ring did not have a matching band designed for it, so I had to find my own as well. I knew I wanted a plain band, which was easy enough. It was just a matter of figuring out what size and style of band (I believe mine is a European comfort it- soft edges vs. no edges or more prominent edges). My band is slightly bigger (2.5mm) than my e-ring (2mm) but they look fine together. And with my e-ring being a 3-stone ring, it is "big" enough that the larger band does not overpower it, looks more like it "supports" it.

Since your e-ring has a large face, I would go either a band of the same size or slightly smaller (if you had to chose larger vs. smaller).

Do you plan to wear both your e-ring and band everyday? What area of work do you do?

I work in a hospital and also have a horse- I do not wear my e-ring to either place. I wanted a wedding band that could stand on it's own (so I didn't get one that was cut out to lay flat with my e-ring, there is a tiny bit of space, but it's not noticeable), and I did not want the risk of losing stones (and as per hospital rules, not suppose to be wearing stones anyway) so I chose a plain band.

I work in a medical setting as well, but private practice and I can wear my ring daily.

I've thought about it and I'm going with a 1.8mm gold band :) Keeping it simple is probably best!
