China vs Plastic

Hi Ladies,
How important is it to have China for your wedding reception dinner versus just plastic?  I'm working on getting catering quotes and trying to figure out if going with really good food on plastic is ok??  I would think it's better to have really good food than just ok food on china...

Re: China vs Plastic

  • depends on your venue. if you are doing something more casual i can see it working, but if its indoors/formal--stick to china. no one expects amazing food at weddings, but i am sure some grammys and nanas wouldnt be pleased to be holding a plastic plate.
  • Its at Gardens of Bammel Lane.  Tables inside a conservatory and out.
  • I personally would not use plastic on casual or formal - it's a wedding, to me: small details mattered too (got married Sept 2011).  If you're having it at a venue, I suggest getting quotes on non-plastic utensils.
    TTC Jan 2011, me: 30, DH 32. Unexplained IF. Aug 2012- Bravelle/Ovidrel, IUI 08/21, IUI 08/22= BFN. Feb 2013: Bravelle/Ovidrel, IUI 02/20, IUI 02/21= BFN.
  • My wedding is at GBL too! My caterer uses plastic, but I am reniting vintage china from a separate vendor.
  • Cool! Do you mind sharing what caterer and where you are renting the china from?
  • I've been to two weddings at gardens of bammel lane....both used plastic.  Didn't bother me.
  • Unless you're having a very casual reception like a backyard BBQ, I would do china. I just think it's more appropriate for weddings.

    We got married 11/3/12!!

  • Bammel seems a little more casual so plastic would work.  China is nice if you have budgeted for it.
  • Thanks everyone for your feedback!
