Alcohol Budget for BYOB

How much $$ should I budget for 225 guests?  I have seen the calculators that tell you how many bottles you will need, but havent been able to figure out the amount of $$ w/o entering in a specific shopping list at a wholesaler - very time consuming and I'm just looking for a rough estimate, including mixers, juices, lemons/limes etc.  I'm assuming Spec's would be the place to order from...any other suggestions (premium/top shelf liquor, beer & wine)?  I'm looking for a rough estimate in terms of dollars.  Help please! TIA!

Unfortunatley it's going to vary a lot based on the brands that you buy. I think the easiest thing would be to figure out how many bottles you need and then multiply by the average of how much you want to spend per bottle. I hote that helps a little. I know that my sister did buy her stuff at Spec's and she was able to return any unopened bottles, which was great.

We bought our beer and wine at Costco, there are much better deals than at Spec's. You can also check the Spec's Outlet on Westheimer at Montrose. I agree, though, it's hard for anyone else to estimate how much you'll need - decide on which brands you want of liquor, beer, and wine, and use one of the online calculators to find out how many bottles to buy, and compare prices at Spec's and Costco. Keep your receipts and return the leftovers.
