Here are some Catholic churches are friendly to out of towners:

    St. Augustine's in Newport

    St. Mary's in Bristol

    St. Anthony's in Portsmouth
    2836 East Main Road
    Portsmouth, RI 02871-2608
    (401) 683-0089

St. Joseph's in Newport  (they used to be very closed off, but I heard their exact words were "We need the money, so we are opening the church up to more weddings")

I've been in all these churches, and I personally think St. Mary's Bristol is the prettiest.  St. Augustine's is my second favorite.

We are from out of town as well and looked in to catholic churches in Newport, i believe St. Augustine's is the only parish that will marry non-parishioners.  Sister Josephine handles wedding ceremony inquiry's and is very helpful.

You can also try St. Lucy's in Middletown.  I believe that they will marry outside parishioners as long as they do pre cana at their home paish and the parish priest signs off.
