Day of Coordinator

Hi there!  I was hoping you could help me with day of coordinators.  I've been thinking of booking one recently to take some of the stress off myself and my mom the day of the wedding.  I was just unsure of what a reasonable price would be, any recommendations on who to contact and if it is really worth it?

I am using Andria from Infinite Events as my wedding coordinator.  She is amazing.  She is creative, patient, professional and I am sooo glad I have her.  Her rates are reasonable. There are a couple knotties on on the boards that use her as well.  I think a DOC would be well worth it to relieve some of the stress of the day.  http://www.infinite-events.net/index.html

I don't know how much you want to spend, but if budget is an issue, you may want this girl.  I've hired a close friend's sister who just graduated from URI in event planning.   She's inexperienced, so very cheap, but eager to please and really enthusiastic and she's been doing a great job creating spreadsheets and to do lists and giving me ideas in the lead-up to our wedding (still 5 months away).  She wants to be a wedding planner so will do what is necessary to get a good recommendation from you in this difficult economic environment.  She's doing my wedding in late august.  If you want her details, send me a personal message.

I third Andria!  She has literally been a life saver 100 times already. Incredibly personable and professional, everything you'd want to take the stress off of you and your loved ones on your day.  I'm having her do everything, not just day of, so I'm not certain of her price, but her website and a quick email should be able to give you that information.

Thanks so much for the help!  I'll definitely check out Andria's site.  As far as budget goes, at first i was looking to stay around $500 but after receiving some quotes i'm thinking that was not a realistic budget.  I guess now it would be around $1000

The reason why I think it may be helpful is because i was recently a BM in my FSIL wedding and i noticed her mom, my FMIL was really stressed out the whole day.  She was running around trying to coordinate with vendors, the bridal partly, even on the phone while we were in the limo on the way to wedding.  I guess when i saw that i realized that's not how i want my day to be for myself or especially my mom.  I'm sure it can depend on how organized you are the day of, but if the price is right i think it would be helpful to have someone coordinating for me.

My DOC is Eventfully Planned, Jaime Nelson. She is so great!

I need someone to help because my reception will not let us in until 4 pm, no ifs ands or buts (I've begged to be let in earlier that day to decorate!)... the ceremony starts at 4:30.  So, who is going to go to the reception and set up candles, favors, etc?  I can't go in my wedding dress with my hair done.  I'm not about to send my mom or a bridesmaid and I'd feel incredibly rude asking another guest like one of my aunts.  It would make them late for the ceremony.  So, I've hired my friend's sister to do that kind of stuff.  She'll check us into our hotel for the night and drop off our clothes, set up our favors, candles on the tables, maybe some white lights, make sure the DJ isn't putting up a disco ball, stuff like that.  She'll also hand out checks to the vendors so we don't have to worry about money on our wedding day.   Basically, her presence will hopefully lessen any wedding day stress.  

So, in some cases, it may be necessary for someone to help and I'd rather that person not be someone who should be enjoying themselves.

I'm late to this but Andria is great and her rates are fantastic. I think you'll be surprised how reasonable she is.
