Color Challenged

I'm relatively color-challenged, I have no idea what colors go with what. My wardrobe reflects this hinderance as well. We're having a fall wedding, and I want a purple wedding, somewhere in the "plum" color, but I don't have any idea what fall color would do well with this. Any ideas? Help please!

    I have a plum color for my bridesmaids (oct. wedding). I'm having red, orange, and light green flowers with a hint of purple in my bouquet. I know this sounds like a lot of color and it is but its very fallish. Also, Michael's has really great magazines about wedding flowers. I got a lot of ideas from those.
