Too many wedding venues I've run into are saying that $2000
for a venue is cheap! Most are up there around $5000!
I don't have that kind of money! If I spent that on the venue alone...
I wouldn't even get a dress. This is how I planned on the wedding
venue for the ceremony, reception, and housing for my family who
flew in. All for under $1000!!! I had to share.
THE MAIN IDEA:
Have the wedding ceremony in the Charles E. Sparks
Rose Garden, have the reception in the same area, down
in the Will Rogers Park South Shelter just a short walk/drive.
Afterwards the guests can go crash in the house(s) I rented
for them off of airbnb.com.
Prices:
Ceremony: $75 for first two hours, $25 for each additional
hour. +$20 deposit, & $75 rehearsal fee (2 hours).
Reception: $65 for first two hours, then $35 per additional
hour. +$20 deposit.
Rental house 1: $170 per night, $10 per guests over 6 quantity.
Rental House 2: $225 per weekend night. Sleeps 8-10
Total estimated price:
$100 (3 hours at garden for setup/ceremony/teardown) + $345
(10 hours at reception for setup/dancing-etc/teardown) + $400 (rentals) =
$848 for ceremony, reception AND 2 houses for guest to stay.
This is all estimating, I have yet to have my wedding and I'm still
haggling with how long the set up is going to take, how long the
tear down is going to take, etc...
