My fiance and I are both prior Navy vets . I served Jul 01- Jul 06 and him Nov 02-Nov 07. It has been a long journey,7 years this Sept...but soooo worth it! Thank you to all that are serving and those who have:)

My Fi is Naval Aviation :] We have pretty much a spouse of someone from every branch, which is great for diversity of opinions/questions on this board!

Well, we have a 4 year old daughter, I have 2 girls from a previous crap marriage haha. Also, with the economy we just haven't had the time to save and what not but this year we are able to save as we go and pull it off for about $8,000. It just seemed like the "right timing". We have technically been engaged since Mar 2009 but upgraded my ring to the set I originally wanted and it just felt right to re-do the whole thing and plan it now! I am so happy and in love:)

Brother is Army. I was the 1st female in my family who joined even though growing up in the Navy I swore to never join!  But I guess Tom Cruise in Top Gun wore on me!  I was 17 when I joined. Did my 5 years and got out because I lost custody of my two oldest girls... We are getting them back very soon.As soon as we get married, we will move to OKC and buy a house. Then work on that!

Glad that you get to mellow out and have the time to plan your wedding now. 8g is a totally do-able wedding budget so you will have no problem there. :]

I'm a Marine Wife now, but I'm prior service, AD Navy. I actually wanted to be a corpsman, but was told that they weren'te letting any women go Corpsman at that time, so I did Aviation.

YEA dual military :-D My husband and I are also active duty Army and currently in Baghdad!
