I think that is a very tough question to ask us without knowing any background on you two, what you want personally and professionally, as well as what he wants. It's a HUGE commitment (and a great one ;) ) but it can be really tough having two people in the military as a couple.. I know several and some have it great, some have it rough, and some.. haven't seen each other in a couple years.

Have you always wanted to go into the military or is this just so you'd be in it together?

no i have not always wanted to be in the military but i have wanted to be in it off and on now for probably about 5 or 6 years. i want to get my audiology degree, and i thought why not join the military to do it .

P.S     its not because i have school loans that i cant pay because i have none, or because i grant pay for school because i have grants i just think serving my country doing something i love would be thrilling!

I think you should talk to your husband about doing it. It's a huge decision so, if I were you, I'd want to be 100% positive on the decision I am making. Since your married, it should be a joint decision.

What does he say about it?

It could definitely cause some problems with an E/O relationship...

I depends what you mean by problems. If you mean violating the UCMJ, nope. They are married prior to commissioning. If you mean getting stares when in uniform together, maybe. I know a couple E/O married couples and they've never had an issue. Their juniors still maintain respect for them and no one really seems to think anything of it. Granted they'll still probably get the occasional stare but that's to be expected. OP isn't the only one on this site going this direction except through different routes (not ROTC). My advice to OP is think about what you genuinely want. Since you have been back and forth, ask yourself if you are prepared to suck it up and finish your contract even if you don't like it (I tried to think of a better way to say it but I'm having trouble with words today).

O/E marriages are challenging. I hope to be in one soon, but it's something to be extremely thoughtful about. You have to avoid being seen in uniform together, being friends with each other's work friends is difficult, etc.
