outdoor Catholic wedding

We are from out-of-state and want to get married in New Mexico. We know there are retired Catholic priests who will conduct an outdoor ceremony. Does anyone know of one in New Mexico?

    I'm actually not sure if there are any here. I'm Catholic as well, & when we went to talk to the priest about getting married, he made sure to specifically remind us that we have to get married inside the church, & not outside, otherwise we wouldn't be seen as married within the church. It would be legal as far as government, but the church wouldn't recognize our marriage.

    I had spoken to a priest, as well, about conducting a ceremony outside. He told us that it had to be on holy ground. So, unless we wanted to get married in a cemetary, our choices were quite limited!Good Luck!Margie
