Alfred Angelo: C+/B-
ALL IN ALL - their dress are absolutely gorgeous. I am sooo in love with my dress. Good selection and prices seem pretty good. However, their customer service stinks and their shipping times are completely horrible.
If you order from them: give yourself extra extra time for shipping. If there's any doubt, pay for rush. Definately check your dress for any flaws prior to signing their no-return waiver and taking the dress from the store. Though I have not experienced it myself, I have heard from many other brides (as well as an ex-employee) that their alterations prices are ridiculous. Take your dress elsewhere for that
Here are the details of my problems:
1. When I went to purchase my dress I had it down to two. The specialist assisting me kept interrupting my mother whenever she tried to give her opinion and the specialist just kept pushing the more expensive dress. I found out later they do work by commission. I finally got fustrated and had to just ask the specialist to leave us alone to talk it over.
2. When I received my wedding dress it had a problem with it, which thankfully was an easy fix. (The corset back had 4 loops sewn into the dress so the dress did not close all the way). I've heard Alfred Angelo's alteration prices were outrageous I had a friend fix it.
3. I now have 3 of my 4 bridemaids' dresses who have had shipping issues. Two of the dresses arrived a week and a half LATE after I paid a rush fee for both. When I spoke with a manager she denied the initial arrival date they had first told me and insisted that the dresses still arrived within their designated timeframe. I decided to pick my battles and let it go since we still havd the dresses in time for alterations. Probably a mistake on my part...
My last bridemaid was supposed to receive her dress December 25th (for my January 9th wedding). On purchase, they insisted that would be the arrival date, so we did not pay for rush shipping. I understand that is Christmas, so I could easily see receiving the dress Monday or Tuesday. However, when we called to check they told us the dress JUST arrived in the states and should ship some time next week - the week of the wedding! Unfortunately, my bridesmaid is very pregnant and will certainly need alterations for sure. When I called to speak with a manager they just told me they'd call when the dress was in and don't seem too interested in helping us resolve the issue. I understand we probably should have done rush shipping regardless, but this is also the 3rd dress they have not shipped when promised.
