New fitness app

I just read an article on this new app that was released yesterday called 'Moves'.

It tracks all of your activity (walking, cycling, running, etc.) as long as you have your phone on you.

I haven't used it yet, as I just downloaded it, but it sounds really awesome.

More info here: http://www.moves-app.com/

  • Interesting, it sucks. I keep finding more and more reasons why I want to have a smart phone and I really don't need one.

  • I just downloaded it! It looks cool.

Buddy, I think you should be one of those people who takes their iPad to the bar too.

They never make the good apps for droids. :( First, weather puppy and now this?? Booo. I wonder if this would kill the phone battery, since it will always be running. I usually try to close out whatever apps aren't currently being used. I like the idea of this app, though and I wish I could have it.

My friend takes her iPad EVERYWHERE.  We went to the mall the other day, and she was tweeting from her iPad while we were in Sephora.  I'm said "seriously, can it wait???"

Apparently not, because she just kept tweeting away.  She's coming over for superbowl with her H.  I told her to leave the iPad at home.  We live two minutes from each other and I never see her.

I never understand how people can go to events or hang out with people and just be on their phone the whole time.

  • *puts nerd hat on*

I would guess this app uses the iPhone's accelerometer to detect movement. It could be that this is more difficult in Android beacause of the variety of hardware in Android devices (Samsung, HTC, etc).

I just let the LoseIt app estimate calories burned based on activity type and duration. If I wanted to get fancy, I have a heart rate monitor that I've used maybe twice.
  • I wish they had this for android :(

This will really help out a friend of mine though! Thanks for the info :)
