My wedding Aug 23rd.  It is a small close friends and family only event and everyone has a problem with everything.  I have no bridesmaids because my sisters are "busy" with other things, my best friend of 25 years told me from the start that she is not into weddings so she would'nt be able to help with anything and the other "friends" beyond words.  I thought if I had a small simple wedding and showed my friends and family that it's about my FI and I coming together as a family and not about the party and gifts people would wish us well and give their blessing, I was wrong.

Wow sounds like you should have had a destination wedding. Sorry they are such party poopers! It will be done soon. Remember that is about you and him and don't worry about them.  Don't talk to them about it and maybe that will make them wonder what is going on. My MOH told me she isn't into weddings either.  HAHa she is totally now. She is having fun doing stuff.  I just ignored her speech about how weddings suck and told her she could say no and she didn't and she has jumped on the planning my wedding train.  Even sends me tips and Ideas.

Just because people don't want to be in a WP doesn't mean that they don't wish you well and give you their blessing.  Not everyone gets excited about weddings.  Not everyone is in a financial position to be n a WP.  No one will care as much about your wedding as you and your FI do.  But that doesn't mean that they don't care about YOU.Consider it a small favor that you don't have the drama that a WP can cause and enjoy your planning.
