Season/Colors/Theme?

I'm just starting my planning, and have only picked the date. So I haven't even begun choosing the color or theme. So I thought it would be helpful for everyone to post when YOU'RE getting married, the overal theme, and the colors you'll be using :)Post, post, post!

  • This October, vintage autumn, and coppers and brown as the main colors, and metallic and ivory/sage as accents.Basically, I couldn't decide on just one color, and wanted to do them all, as my family jokes around by saying.More info in my bio

  • Getting married in December. We don't have a theme and our colors are eggplant and various shades of purple.
  • We'll be getting married at the end of January, and our colors are marine/navy blue, silver, and white.I'm trying to stay away from a full-on winter wonderland theme if I can help it, because I think that's a little corny lol.  But there will be some "winter" incorporated in various places.
  • I still have a while to go, but I'm thinking pink and champagne/gold, or yellow and platnum, or some combination of those. I have some idea pics in my bio if your interested.

  • We're getting married next July...color is red. Don't really have another color...maybe some ivory or off-white.  We are having an Italian reception, but our venue is really set up for an African theme (It's at our local zoo) So we decided on "Travel" as our theme.  Invites and save the dates will be passport inspired, escort cards will be boarding passes, cocktail hour music will incorporate the theme also. It should be a ton of fun!

  • My advice:Don't get too caught up in colors matching seasons, having a theme, etc.  It's something the wedding industry likes to promote because it makes them money.  Just because you get married in fall doesn't mean that you HAVE to have fall colored flowers (orange/red/brown/copper) and BM dresses, nor do you HAVE to have a fall theme to the wedding.  You could just as easily have a beautiful wedding with purple and yellow as your colors, if that's what you want. That being said, our colors were gold, hunter green and burgundy.  Wedding was a celtic handfasting, so had a celtic theme

  • I totally agree with "tide"...we interviewed a wedding planner who immediately shot down my plans to use red as a major color in our Spring (April) wedding. Of course, we didn't go with her! I don't buy into the whole certain colors for certain seasons thing either - it should be about what you want, and what makes you happy. For us, its an April 24th date, with red, champagne/ivory, and a spring green (vibrant, kind of lime, but not too bright) color for accent. We are also going to add a few peach colored roses to the red just to add a spot of color.

  • ...didn't finish my earlier though - we'd like the peach roses to play off the red, for a colorful combination. But I am not a pastel girl, and I knew right away I wanted deeper colors, even though we are planning a spring event...

  • we are getting married next december and our colors are purple and white, only because purple is my favorite color and FI could really care less about it, lol
  • We are getting married on Halloween but we're not using black and orange *L* We have more of a Victorian Gothic theme and are using black, white and wine.

  • We are getting married in April and are having a black and white wedding with red flowers as accents.
  • LOL!!!  I am getting married in October 2010 and we're using hunter green, cranberry, and cream (unless gold gets the resounding vote).Does that help?Have fun!Sarah
  • I am getting married the weekend of Thanksgiving this year. My colors are red and white which flows nicely with the gold fixtures in the venue of our reception. I didn't have a theme but as we have been planning roses and hearts have become a dominant theme.
  • I got married this past May. We had a theme of sunflowers and our colors were sunflower, royal blue, and teal. It was very happy and fun :)

  • I also agree that you don't have to match your colors to your season. We're getting married 12.12 of this year and I absolutely do NOT want a Christmas theme... Our colors are chocolate brown with accents of jewel tones.
