The things people say...

So these are the comments an acquaintance of mine posted on one of our engagement photos. The picture is of my FI and I standing in front of our venue, which happens to be a barn!
Here it goes:

Her: I think i know this barn... Is there a small playground around the side, like when you first pull up?

Me: Yes there is!

Her: And is this by coloma?

Me: Yes it is

Her: Ugh. lol is ur wedding gunna be there? I attended a wedding there last year and it was a wedding from hell... Blood shed and all LITERALLY! As long as ur family doesnt go all AWOL at the last second urs will be fine lol.

Me: ...

  • Wow, that was a random comment. I think ignoring it was the best thing you could do. I would also consider deleting their comments from your newsfeed.

  •  I know it was random, and quite shoking! I have tried contacting my photographer, she is the one that posted this photo and tagged me in it... We will see what happens.

  • Do you live near Coloma?

I would ignore the comment or delete it.  Are you fairly young?  Your friend might disapprove of your marriage and this might be a passive aggressive way to show it.

  • I live up the road from Coloma. I don't know why she would disapprove... She is three years younger than me and is planning a wedding of her own.

  • Maybe she wanted to get married there and can't for whatever reason and is jealous.

  • Or maybe she actually went to a wedding there where there was actually blood shed, and because she's about 18 years old (since I believe Sierra's in her early 20s and she just said this girl is 3 years younger), she has absolutely no filter or sense of what's socially appropriate and felt the need to share?

Why in the ever-loving-motherfluck do women always go to "OH EM GEE.  She's obviously JEALOUS!"  Nothing about what this girl said struck me as "jealous," just "I have a story and I'm too young/immature/dumb to realize this is an inappropriate place to share it."

This is a comment you just ignore.  Many people tend to speak (or in this case post) before they think and do not realize that what they just said may hurt the other person.

I agree with Steph, she may just not have known any better and didn't realize that the best thing would be to keep her trap shut.  Trust me, I have been to many weddings at some of the same locations and each time the bride to me tells me where she is getting married my outward respose is "Oh that should be so nice!" while my inner response is "Oh crap, not that horrible food again!"

Oh and I seriously doubt this person is jealous, she is more then likely just an idiot without a filter.

  • Considering how chock full of maturity and filtering skills YOU are, I'm not really sure why you find it so "shoking" that people you associate with are capable of not keeping their mouths shut.

It looks to me that she just filterlessly shared a personal experience. It wasn't like she was passing judgment on YOUR wedding. As for the photo, you can always untag yourself in it if you don't want the picture up.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Considering the things you say on here and the amount of maturity you display I find it hard to believe you would find such things shocking.

Sierra here's the thing. This is the internet. No one knows you in real life so people can only make judgements by what you post.  You post are filled with whiny immaturity and many times the lack of common sense and intelligence.  Although this may not be true it is how you portray yourself. Don't get upset when someone calls you out on it.  If you read your post you'll find out I'm not the only one calling you out on the BS but you have chosen to single in on me many times which can be constituted as a personal attack.
