So ladies, I have a serious issue.
One of my bridesmaids just stepped out of the wedding.  I have no idea what to do now!!  Does asking another girl look terrible?

Don't do it....you asked the girls you asked for a reason, please don't replace them.

It's perfectly ok to have uneven numbers.  Also think how the girl you have replace her will feel.. like second best like 2nd string QB

You go on with whoever you have left. If you have one less girl than guys, then one girl can have two groomsmen escort her. Not a big deal at all. You don't need an even number of attendants. Plenty of people purpously choose an uneven bridal party ... you're honoring friends, not filling slots.

If you want to stay friends with the girl that dropped out, maybe wait a few days for things to settle down and then talk to her and see if there's a way to help her out so that she can remain a bridemaid. If that's not possible, then make it clear that you understand and that you hope she can still attend as a guest.
