Shoes

So we are planning a spring wedding. And originally we planned on our bms to wear short flowy dresses. I wanted my girls to feel comfortable and we fell in love with this dress. http://m.davidsbridal.com/mt/www.davidsbridal.com/Product_StraplessSatinandOrganzaSidePickUpBallGownF14854_BridalPartyBridesmaidsLongBridesmaidDresses Do you think this would work with a spring wedding? Also with bein long I've decided to let them wear any shoes they want. They are both 5'6 or taller and im short 5'1 they asked if I thought flats would be ok to wear what do you think?

These are the shoes in question..

Why is the title of your post "Shoes"?

Anyways...IMHO I hate this dress. I think the pickups are outdated and this dress would make me look humongous...and I'm a size 6...
  • Its titled shoes because i asked at the bottom about shoes!!!!

No, you didn't originally, because I quoted your original post.

It's rude to edit your original post without using "ETA"

Anyways...let your bridesmaids wear whatever shoes they're comfortable in.
  • Well im sorry umm im new to this site and was having trouble putting the link on which is still not work.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I'm having trouble seeing your OP b/c the link causes the advertising to cover it, but from what I can piece together, it looks like you're asking if that dress is ok for a spring wedding and if flats would work with it.

I agree with MS about not really liking the dress, but if you and your bridesmaids like it, that's what matters, and I think it's fine for a spring wedding. Personally, I would opt for something a little more lighter fabric, but I don't think this is overly heavy for spring.  As for shoes, you should let your bridesmaids wear whatever shoes they want. They do not all have to match.

  • Thanks. Those are the shoes they asked me about I'm up for them to wear anything. That dress is also the dress they both found together and wanted I just said yes. All the little flowy ones they hated.

  • I am not crazy about either the shoes or the dress but I am not the one having to wear them.  If both of your BMs like the dress and the shoes then just let them go for it.  You should be happy that your girls came to a consensus on a dress because a lot of times BMs don't which can lead to bickering.  If they both like the shoes then let them buy them.  I think you should just tell them to wear whatever silver shoe they like and if it happens to be the flats then good for them.

I am interested to hear what your opinion on the dress is.  Do you like it?  I know that the BMs should have a say since it is their money being used to buy the dress but it is also your wedding so you should have a say as well.  If you absolutely hate it you have the right to say so.  Wedding planning is about compromising.

  • I actually love it. It flattered both of them very well and my fl loves it as well. I guess everyone has their own kind of taste. So like Addie said if you and your bms like it that's all that matters.

  • The long dress with pickups is very formal while the glitterey flats is semi formal.  I don't think they go together.  Malibu blue works very well with silver though and I think you could find more elegant flats that would work with your formal dress.
