Snarky Brides

What's up?

All-round, I've had a pretty good day today. I'm at one of the busier branches this week, so the day flew by, and I sent my ACT scores to the local university I'd like to go to. Brandon thinks I need to start looking at merit-based scholarships, but since I have a GED, I don't have a GPA, so I dunno if that's going to happen for my first year, even if all the deadlines haven't already passed. But I don't know jack about this stuff, so who knows.

I also had my first session with the counselor today. I liked it. I felt pretty comfortable and at ease, and I think this might help me a lot. But, work only covers 3 sessions, 6 if she can convince them I need it (which she does think I do, since you know, it's a lifelong issue I'm trying to address here, not going to be fixed in three hours). After that I need to figure out what we need to do to get my insurance to cover it. Overall though, I think I'm going to be glad I did this.

So how's everyone here doing? What's for dinner? What'd you do over the weekend? Do chickens wish they could fly?

  • Hello pretty lady!

Congrats on the score. I have the same issue with math ;)

I'm sitting watching The Voice, trying to get the energy to go take a shower. I have to wash my hair and it's a process.

Hah, I think I did pretty well, considering I never went past tenth grade math.

I wish washing my hair was a process. I have none, it takes me less than half an hour to shower, dry, straighten and style it. Buuuut, it's thin, frizzy, prone to breakage and grease, and it sucks ass.

I have very thick hair, and only wash it twice a week. I have been using the Macadamia Oil Organix shampoo/cream rinse. And I love it.

H is in FL this week so I had salad for dinner. And I'm tired, probably to bed early with the kitten.

  • Good evening ladies!

I'm trying to keep myself up until 9:30 so I don't feel completely pathetic. I started to feel a little ill yesterday and it just snowballed today, I feel like crap right now. It annoys me because I've been taking vitamins and trying to take good care of myself to avoid getting sick but it just came out of no where.  J is watching hockey which will surely make me fall asleep right on the couch so I thought I'd pop in.

Chickens wish they were ducks deep deep down.

[QUOTE]Hey Any!  Well done on the ACT scores, that's excellent.  I hope it all goes smoothly from here with the applications and things.  And I'm glad the counselling is seems like it's going to be good too.   I'm at work, so nothing terribly interesting there.  I'm pottering around on the internet looking at ideas for a paper wedding anniversary gift for H.  I have no idea what dinner will be tonight yet, but dinner last night...well I'm going to call it chilli for posterity's sake.  Pork with tomatoes and kale and mexican seasoning. <strong> Considering the limits on available western food here, it wasn't bad!</strong>

Hah I bet. Brandon's slowly winning me over with the spiciness and whatnot. We're making this for dinner:

    <a href="http://www.cooklikeachampionblog.com/2009/11/pasta-with-creamy-cajun-sauce.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.cooklikeachampionblog.com/2009/11/pasta-with-creamy-cajun-sauce.html</a>

Which I never would have tried 4 years ago.

[QUOTE]Hey KD!  How are you, pretty lady? Question, has <strong>TK been buggerising</strong> about again today?  Every so often when I refresh, a whole bunch of posts disappear and one post from Dot pops up about wanting to stop people from following her on pinterest.  It's weird.

  • Any, I'm glad to hear your session with the counselor went well!

I'm sick, and I have an interview on Wednesday.  I'm hoping I get rid of his sore throat and runny nose before then.  I need to be updating my portfolio, but so far I'm not really feeling up to it.

Thanks Linds! Hope you get better for your interview.
  • I'm starting to feel better after a long exhausting week at work last week.  Saturday I spent my entire shift outside on the patio inhaling secondhand smoke (We are one of the only restaurants in the area that allow smoking) and it wreaked havoc on my throat. I'm just now starting to feel normal.

FI and I drove up to OKC last night/this morning to surpise a friend for her birthday and we are staying the entire week.  It'll be nice to have some time off from work to relax.

Fun! I've only been to OKC once, and it was for an OU game (H is from Oklahoma and did his undergrad there, as did his sister). It was pretty awesome though.
  • The only post I can see is a picture of Howard the Duck. This must be a good thread.

I'm terribly bored, and feeling restless. FH is watching the Daytona 500 and I'm looking at bottles/vases online.

  • I just finished wrking out. My co-irker informed me today she has started walking in the morning for 40 minutes so it looks like I have to ramp my ass into gear. Theres really nothing better htan hatred based motivation.

Other than that im trying out this whole drinking lemon water thing. Whats it gonna hurt.
  • Hey all, I'm watching Hoarders and trying to find a place that I can print a big picture without paying a lot. The search isn't going well.

  • That is good motivation Nebb!  I wish I had something like the right now.  The wedding being 4 months out hasn't done it.  All I want is a little bit of toning up, but I think I may be a lost cause.

  • My wedding was great motivation for me, and then once I got married I stopped working out and gained it all back :( I have a really hard time keeping weight OFF lol. You still have plenty of time though, a little will go a long way. Do you lift at all?
  • Hi everyone!

I'm just chilling, H fell asleep... Poor boy, couldn't sleep at all last night and then played 18 holes of golf.  Came home, lay down on the couch, and zonk.  At least now he'll sleep REAL well.  :)

Any - I have to say, I LOVE the dress (or shirt?) you're wearing in your sig.  The back is so pretty!

  • Hi!

I am watching the Bachelor and The Voice.
I just tore my right contact and I only have one pair left. Guess who's going to the eye doctor soon? I am also trying to convice H that I need new glasses. I am failing so far though.
  • When I was in college, I would do free weights and stair climber.  I'm not good with cardio.  I like running (sometimes), but I have a horrible lung capacity.

  • Hi.
I'm eating cherry poptarts and drinking tea. It's raining here today, which I love.
I'm also trying to choose a new hair color, since mine is fading so bad.

Shirt! It's like a baby doll kinda thing, the front looks the same, but I usually tape it in place so it's not super skanky.

lifting free weights is my favourite. I bought some off a buddy of mine and it was the best investment ive made. Working some lifting in would probably help enough to make a difference in 4 months.
  • Lol, not super skanky is good. :)

Did anyone watch the Oscars last night? I saw the red carpet thread but it seemed to die once the show started.  I thought overall it was pretty boring... The only good winner (by that I mean, not exciting) was Octavia Spencer.  Still think Viola Davis shoulda won... Looks like Michelle Williams did a good job too. When they played her clip, I couldn't believe it was the same girl!
