Somebody decorate my bathroom.

Because I have no idea wtf I'm doing.





1:  I hate that paint, but I am not at all opposed to color.
B:  Do not take that bright pink owl soap pump as inspiration plzkthx.
III:  As much as I would love to put in a new mirror, cabinet and sink, the most we would probably do for now it remove the towel rack, add some paint and some wall decorations.

Seriously, I hate all 3 of our bathrooms, and SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.  Problem is, I started playing with that damn Sherwin Williams room visualizer thing and now I'm all confused.

Of course the mirror extends over the toilet.  Because I don't already hate long mirrors enough.

As far as my style, I like color!  I loooove clean lines and I would love to do something bold like a thick stripe around the walls, but the walls aren't smooth so it would look odd I think.  But things like that are cool.  I guess you would call it modern?  Think sleek and clean I guess.

Yay! Ok, the mirror has to go- somehow. Look on craigslist and yard sales for a decorative vanity mirror, or homegoods.

Do you think the wall would be damaged some how under the mirror?  I really really hate it.  Plus, Scott's mom is going to be annoyed we painted over her super-awesome-purple-paint (that is also in the freakin kitchen) so if we take down the mirror, it has to look good.  What kind of mirror would look good above that sink?  It's attached to the wall in the corner, I can take another picture if you want.

MilkDuds - it is a townhome, but we own it.  Unfortunately, we didn't buy it until after Scott's mom seriously uglied up 2 of the 3 bathrooms and now we are suffering.

Whys that?  The picture makes it look dark, it's actually really bright in there if that's what you mean.

KIm- It might be but it would be easy to find out. Just unscrew it and look back there, even if its damamged it would be a fairly easy fix.

I have a large vanity mirror that would look nice. Let me see if I can find something similiar...

I think a large framed mirror would look great. I also love bright colors, but I'm a fan of light/neutral colors in bathrooms. We painted ours a grey color, and when I get bored I just switch out the rugs/towels/shower curtain/etc for a splash of color.

First, let me say I did NOT realize my dog was in this picture until I put it on my computer and it scared the beejesus out of me.



Anyway, as far as the light fixture goes, it isn't my favorite, but it's ok.  There is one in the second bedroom's bathroom that we could trade it out with that it more low key and rectangular.  Mostly, I don't want to spend a lot of energy and money redecorating because we don't plan on living here past college, but I need to do something about that bathroom.

Berry, that's exactly what we have been doing with the bathroom in our room which is painted brown.  I do like muted colors, but since it's such a small space and 85% of our house is currently brown or tan, I would love to try some bright/bold colors in there.

See we are the opposite. All of the other rooms are bright in our house, so we left the kitchen and bathroom pretty muted. You can see what I'm talking about in the link in my sig called "The Love Nest." (And yes..I realize it's lame that it says the love nest :)

I almost suggested a bright blue like that. I like it, you just have to be careful that it doesn't end up looking like too much

I do so like some grey and yellow... maybe grey walls/bright yellow and white accessories?  Or light yellow walls, silver/pewter and white accessories?  Actually, now that I'm picturing it in my head, I'm not much of a yellow walls person.

ETA: Yeah, looking like it's too much or too bathroomy (if that makes sense) is what's making me lean away from blue.  Also, in my excitement over the yellow/grey idea, I forgot to remember what a gross yellow color the counter is.  Would that ruin it?

That mirror is interesting!  And it wouldn't be too hard to do myself.

The counter is marbleized, and is a kind of blah yellowy tan color.  Not very pretty, but maybe not too distracting?  The cabinet is off white, with a tan design carved into the front.  I am more than willing to paint it, even if it's just taking it to a brighter white to match the floorboards.  The floor is brown multicolored tile, you can see it a little in my OP.

I'm going to step away for 10 - 15 minutes, doggy figured out it's time for her night walk.
