FI basically let me pick the day (I suspect he's gonna be very hands-off for most of the planning). I like 10/12 because I like the way it feels when I say it (and I'm gonna be saying it a lot!). Also because it's my grandfather's birthday. He passed away and won't be with us for my wedding so I thought it would be a sweet way to have him present.

I think the girl who mentioned Thanksgiving must be from canada.  I think their Thanksgiving is either the first or second weekend in October.
