    I think this cake stand idea is really great and I checked them out. They are cute, but it seems overpriced for something a cake will just be sitting on. Seems pretty easy to do it yourself. Good idea though!

    They seems pricey but, I looked at stands on ebay and could not find a silver cake plateu for under $100.

    If anyone is interested in DIY, I have a wooden cake plateau I'd sell for the price I got it - $10 on Trash or Treasure from another knottie.You pay shipping and handling. It is large, at least 20 inches across both ways so would be perfect for any size.I was  going to cover it in satin draping, but am getting married in Vegas and don't want to haul it.
