Cupcake cost?

I am having my friend who is a baking student do cupcakes as the groom's cake. We need eight of them. She asked for a price range and I was just wondering what a normal price range would be for cupcakes fir eight people?

    The cake baker I am looking at using said that cupcakes are $3 per person with an additional 25 cents for a filling, or decor on each cupcake, etc...

    Our cupcakes are $35/dozen, I think.  That includes the gumpaste flowers :)

    Ours are $1.75 each. This was for all flavors with coloured frosting and dragees.
