How big should my cake stand be?

Hi, just recently I ordered our cake and I am now shopping for a cake stand! Does anyone have any idea what size I should get for a 12 inch bottom tier? I want it to fit it but I also dont want it to be oversized. Thanks!

I would honestly ask your baker this question.  He/she probably also has pics you can use so you know what size to get for the look you want.  I would think you would want a minimum 14" so you have 1 in all the way around but that may be too small.  Check with your baker.

The bottom layer of my cake is 14", and my baker told me that the bottom would actually measure out to 18". She said we would need a 20" stand. I was so glad I asked, because the one I was going to get was 17", and I thought that would be plenty big enough. Call and ask your bakery.
