Timing

If I have a 4:00 ceremony, do I need to serve a formal sit-down dinner at the reception? Or can I get away with an appetizer buffet? Thanks for the help!

    I think that depends on how late you're planning on having the reception go to. If you're planning on clearing everyone out for 6:30, then I think you could maybe get away with appetizers, but any later, I think you need to properly feed your guests.

    I would expect dinner unless you specifically said "Cocktail Reception" on the invitation.  Then I would expect drinks and appetizers and I would expect the reception to only last maybe two or two and a half hours, and we'd go get dinner afterward probably.
