for it, who doesn't love it?  but... how do you keep it from getting soggy before everyone is served?

i disagree wholeheartedly.  most things take very well to deep frying!  especially cube steak and chicken.

i don't know...  part of the appeal to me is the crispy fried beef covered in gravy.  once it becomes soggy, what's the point of the chicken fried?

Fried chicken sans gravy.  Gravy is for biscuits.

depends on how formal the event is...if you are going for down home comfort food I say go for it... If you are in a beautiful ball room, decorated to the 9s....probably not.

I wouldn't eat it. I guess if there was another option or 2 it might be okay to serve it, depending on the formality of the event as pp said.

Is that a Southern thing? I've heard of it, but never seen it way up here in Canadaland.

this made me chuckle.  I thought that too about pickles until I tried some - SO GOOD!

I love country fried steak - it's really heavy though and usually after eating it, I want to take a nap.  But, we're serving fried chicken and fried catfish at our recepion - keeping it homey.

I think kaesha is right, it must be a regional thing, I like onion rings and calamari, in moderation :P but never heard chicken fried steak, I looked it up cuz I was curios, I'm friends with google too ;) I am intrigued however.

Ok I just looked up what it is, and I would not serve that at a wedding. As a guest, I wouldn't eat it. Maybe it tastes good to some people, but visually, it's very unappealing.
