I need menu for reception help

We have decided on a 1940's New Orleans theme for our wedding my caterer has given me free regin on choosing what food we're going to have and I have no idea.
Any ideas would be great!!

    I wouldn't limit the food choices to 1940's New Orleans.  I would do some southern foods - jambalaya, etoufee, coffee and biengets, etc.  But, remember your budget and what you can afford, also what your guests will eat.

    Go to Galatoire's website and look at their menu for ideas. They're a classic New Orleans restaurant and most of the menu items have been on the menu for over 100 years. It's definitely the sort of things that would be eaten by society New Orleanians in the 1940s. 

    I highly recommend doing bread pudding for dessert, gumbo or turtle soup au sherry for the first course.
