Inexpensive venue with a day-of coordinator - impossible in NoVA?

Hey everyone!

We just started planning and as a budget bride and a DIY bride, I'm really struggling to find a place in Northern Virginia to have a wedding!

The inespensive places (under $1000) are all the sort where you can only be there for the hours rented, have no help the day of, and have to remove all things at the end of the day. As great as it sounds to pack up my wedding at the end of it, I'd rather not have to.

The ones I've found that have on-site event coordinators are all expensive $3000 and up JUST for the venue.

Does a happy medium exist in this area? I know the standard of living is high but it shouldn't be this hard to plan a wedding for less than 100 people for under $10,000!

Any help would  be great!!

I didnt check any places too far out in NOVA because our church is in DC but the Palomar in Rosslyn has a 10k min (i think 8k in the ballroom) and is all inclusive...cocktails, food, cake, coordinator. 150/pp so we're trying to keep our list at 70 or so. if you find a place and still need a planner- check out voila events. 500 for the day of package and tyler is wondeful- she was actually the first vendor i booked because even tho the palomar has a coodinator- i wanted to be able to do a lot of DIY decor that i needed someone to set up.

    good luck!

If you find a venue without a Day of Coordinator - I highly recommend Piece of Cake!  The owner, Teresa, is amazing!  She will go above and beyond and will help any budget.  I was a budget wedding and a DIY wedding.  Got married in Oct. 22nd.  Her website is:  http://www.pieceofcakeva.com/Piece_of_Cake_Website/Welcome.html

    Tell her Yvonne sent you!

How far south are you willing to travel?  I live in Woodbridge and I've been touring venues with my planner and running into the same problem.  I found a few reasonably priced places, but our count is too big (over 150) for them.  See if you like any of them:

I have had two friends recently get married in the Maryland/DC area and they both rented faciiities that did not have a day of coordinator.  I offered them my services for the day.  I decorated the site, set tables, linens, coordinated with the dj and cater, etc before the guests showed up for the reception.  If you find a place that doesn't have a DOC - I'd be happy to help.  My cousin and I have done two weddings so far and are just getting started.  We are relatively inexpensive and would be excited to start building our portfolio.  I can provide you with references for the two weddings we have done so far.

    Thanks and good luck!
