Two weddings? Same Dress?

I've always wanted to have a big wedding.  My fiance is in the military and is shipping out in September.  We've discussed getting married this June and having a big reception exactly one year later.  It is appropriate to where a wedding dress to the court house and then again a year later? Please answer I have no clue what the proper etiquette is for this situation.  Thank you, Kathryn.

The first wedding is your day.  Usually, it is seen as improper etiquette to "recreate" a wedding when you're already married.  I'd think that wearing the dress again would fall in that category.

I don't think you should really worry about proper ettiquette since what you're planning is non traditional anyway. If you want to wear the dress to the courthouse and then later when you have your reception that is great. If you want to wear two different outfits that's cool too.
