Restaurant Thoughts?

Where are you having your rehearsal dinner at? Trying to find fresh idea. Ceremony and Reception will both be at zoo (we think) so we'll be near downtown. Maybe someplace on the water...The docks? Also...is anyone having a day-after brunch? If so...where at? Just trying to get some good suggestions. Thanks!

Our rehearsal dinner was catered by DH's Uncle and was held in a room at the Sisters of Notre Dame. Low-key and nice. The day-after brunch was at my parents house. :) So, I guess I'm not much help, haha.

We had ours at a Mud Hens game! We had a luxury suite offered to us but they also rent out rooms and have yummy catering!!

FSIL had her rehearsal dinner at Zia's at the docks last fall and it was great. They rent out a private room in the back, and we had a couple dishes passed family style along with their normal salad and bread. I've heard good things about the Navy Bistro as well.

Mud Hens sounds so fun! But I guess it would be dependant on their schedule for next season. However...i had forgotten about Zia's! His family is Italian, so that may work great too! I also like the idea of the day-after brunch. I'd love to have it in a home setting...but both me and my mom have relatively small homes for the number of people who would be coming. His family is all from out of town, so that's not a help. I guess we'll keep thinking about that one. Thanks for suggestions!

we're thinking about renting one of the cabins at Maumee Bay for two nights before the honeymoon and having it there. We had the same problem of no one having a big enough house, but the cabins have lots of room and a kitchen.

We had our rehearsal dinner at La Scola Italian Grill on Airport Hwy near Reynolds Rd. They have a private room that accommodates up to 50 people. It's really pretty and cozy, and the food is great. Their website is www.lascolaitaliangrill.com.

My future in-laws were in town this weekend so we took them out to Zia's to check it out. Watching his Italian parents eat their food and RAVE about it was all we needed to know! Both of our families loved it...so we think we found our spot! Thanks for all the suggestions!
