Large Barn near Toledo, Ohio or Monroe, Michigan?

I am looking for a barn for my wedding and/or reception next spring. I would like to stay fairly close to Toledo, as I will be having quite a few people coming in from out of state. I am definitely looking for the more rustic feel as opposed to the pole barn type. It also has to be pretty sizable to accomodate 175-200. I have seen a few posts but not too many replies. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I am in the same boat!  However, we are planning on having ours in September 2013.  I haven't seen anything that would work yet...

Has anyone tried any of the fairgrounds?  Lucas and Fulton both have some rustic style barns on their properties and I know they rent them out when it's not fair week.

Consider Sauk Valley in Brooklyn, MI as well. That's where my reception is. It isn't a "barn" but it has all of that rustic feel and charm. It's definitely different, but a lot more things are included. At least it's something to consider. And it's beautiful up there in Irish Hills. About 45 minutes to an hour from the City of Toledo.

I spoke with the coordinator from Your Perfect Day regarding the barn in Monclova, she said she is the contact person for this venue. The cost to rent is $7000.00.

Actually the price I was quoted was $7,500.  You have it on Friday for setup, Saturday for event, Sunday for clean up. Nothing is included except for a high end portable restroom (there is a two stall restroom there.) You have to rent your own tables and chairs, any vendor is allowed as long as they are insured, and you have to obtain a liquor license if you plan to serve alcohol. I'm kind of glad there is someone else shocked by the price because I was beginning to feel like I was going crazy thinking that was too much.

That's absolutely too much. I paid 2600 for a barn wedding in indiana and it included tables, chairs, and linens.

I know! I totally agree!

I ended up finding the perfect barn in central Michigan that was $1500 for the day. It had a beautiful outdoor ceremony site, the barn (including tables and chairs) and an onsite bridal suite.

Where did you find that barn? Is it a privately owned or business? Any more info you could give to me on it?
