Children in the ceremony

I would love some ideas on how to incorporate my son in the wedding ceremony. He will be about 16 months next September. I really dont want to have someone bring him down in a wagon.....I've seen it so many times. Thank you!

Hmm, without him being able to walk (or walk well) and take direction, I don't really see how it's feasible for him to be incorporated without him being pulled or pushed in something, or carried down the aisle.

I think it's great that you want him in the wedding, and up there with you two! I think that's so sweet. But at his age, actually "incorporating" him could be difficult. Could your mom, or his mom carry him and have him up there. Your maid of honor?

I realize these aren't great ideas, but I'm tryingWink

And actually, how exactly to you want him to be incorporated? Do you want some sort of active involvement like a ring bearer, or do you just want him at or near the altar to be acknowledged?

Our little guy will be 2 next yr when we get married.  Here are a few of my ideas...one he can walk down with his cousin (who will be 4) and hope that works.  Other idea we have talked about his having him be held by FI untill I walk down I give him a kiss and then my brother (who is a groomsman will take him)  I love the signs here comes the bride but not sure we will be able to get him to do that.  My friend had her son (who was 5ish) walk her down the isle.  Just a few ideas!

I am going to have my two-year old nephew walk down as the ring bearer alongside my future SIL who is our flower girl (8 years old). She's great with him. If he doesn't want to go down the aisle, hey, I don't care. His mom is also a bridesmaid and his dad is a groomsman, so if he doesn't want to walk at the rehearsal then they can carry him.

If it's all a disaster, I don't care! It's really just important to me that he's in the wedding. Wedding's aren't supposed to be perfect anyway :)

Thank you for the ideas! By being incorporated, I would just like him to make his way down the aisle. I'm thinking of having one of FIs parents walk him down (my mom isn't a part of my life). We are planning on 2 flower girls, but were thinking of having my 2 godsons (who will be almost 2 and 3 at the time of the wedding) walk down with them since Im not sure how well Finn will be able to pull it off.

Our daughter will be 19 months when we get married. We are just going to go with the flow and let her walk by herself. We may have my mom or someone help her if she gets lost or distracted halfway, but Im not too worried about it.
