Wedding processional/recessional

Is there a certain way that you have to have it done or can you do it any way you want? We aren't traditional and want to do it our way but we don't want it to look strange.

We just talked to our priest last night and we were wondering if we were limited to songs such as Pachabel's Canon and "Here Comes the Bride", which he said we were not, but to talk to the music director. So if a Catholic Church OKed a secular song, I'd definitely say you're good to do what you want. We want Glasgow Love Theme (from Love Actually) which really suggests a slow, beautiful processional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56PTckVqdwM

As foran order in which you or manner in which your walk down the aisle, it really depends on the venue. Churches tend to highly suggest something traditional, but of course, if you're in your own venue--do whatever you want!

Yeah, I think it really matters where you are having your ceremony. Are you talking more about the music or how people proceed down the aisle, or both?

We're getting married in a Catholic church, so we're pretty limited.  We have six on each side (it just happened to work out that way) so we'll have the girls walk down the aisle themselves and back up with one of the groomsmen.

We're beating to the beat of our own drums too.  Neither of us are religious so when we met with our officiant it was important for us to come up with creative ideas.  We're having a solo guitarist play processional/recessional.  We're coming up with ideas to take songs we love to make them instrumental.  I'm still having my dad walk me down the aisle but skipping out on that whole "giving away" language.

I am being escorted down the aisle by my best friend to Imagine.  Megan and I are (most likely) walking back to Here Comes the Sun.  All of our pre-wedding music is also Beatles music, played by our church pianist.
