Children "Favors"

My wedding is in 9 days, and I have just recently learned that we will have about half a dozen children present, ranging in age from 8months-7years. We decided to give them special "favor bags" on top of the others (tulle bag of pastel mints).

So far I have a stack of coloring books, individual packages of crayons, "gazz-it" modeling clay (it is supposed to be really mess free, I plan on opening one to find out if this is true), and little boxes of puzzles for the 5 + kids.

As a parent, is this something you would appreciate? Do you think the kids will like them/ get use from them? I don't want them bored. It is also nice, the "bridal room" is right out side the reception room, and is basically a little square room with couches. IT will easily become a "kids" room for anything necessary- naps, quiet time, what ever. So, that makes me happy.

Anyway.. Favor bags, yay or nay?

Definitely yay. I have heard from many brides on here that children's favors are always a hit both with the kids and parents. My reception coordinator also suggested that I provide something to keep the kids busy. It also makes the kids feel extra special, not only were they invited to a fancy party with the adults, they also get their own favor. :D

I'm going to have a "kids table" at our reception. The kids will sit with their parents during dinner, but the kids table will be available with coloring books and little toys to keep the kiddos busy.

Hurrah thank you! I also told my FSIL that she can bring the baby's bouncer/walker for after dinner, or during.. There will probably always be someone who wants to hold him, but just in case.

Sounds like a good idea as well. BTW when I first saw this post my first thought was "She wants to give children as favors?"

</div><div>I plan on giving the kids little goodie bags before the ceremony filled with a small coloring book, an 8 pack of crayons, some dum-dums, and some other quite things they can do during the ceremony so they don't get bored and loud. For the 3 infants, I plan on putting a teething ring, some baby snacks, and a few quiet toys.   I'm going to put them all in small brown paper sacks and tie them with a ribbon.</div>

I didn't even think about for the ceremony!  I have 6 little ones coming.. knowing them, if I gave them something for the ceremony, it would end up worse than with out. I can just imagine the crayons being thrown, etc. I am just hoping parents are kind enough to escort them out if they get uncontrollably loud.

That sounds great ... The parents will appreciate the things to keep the littel ones occupied and the kids will feel special.
