Definitely do chocolates. I am always in favor of edible favors. I would probably not even bring a box of soap home with me.

Chocolates as long as it isn't too hot outside for them to melt.

What about doing candy instead of chocolates?  We went to a wedding where the couple made homemade apple and caramel flavored hard candies in little bags and they were really tasty, plus they'd survive outside better than chocolates! :-)
