fun wedding favor idea

Hi, i just thought id share my idea for a great wedding favor- especially for a country/backyard style wedding. My fiance and I decided on little jars of homemade jam. Who doesnt love homemade jam? My grandmother and mom are making most of it, and the great thing about jam is that you can start making it waaaay in advance. It will keep for a couple of years, unopened, and stored in place that doesnt get too hot. This is also a great idea for those of you who live in more rural areas and have friends who can give you fruit that doesnt look nice enough to send to the store!

Yeah I saw that idea a lot when searching for ideas for my own country/backyard bbq type wedding. I decided on s'more kits instead, since we are having a bonfire too.

Are you really making 500 jars of jam?  Wowsers!  And can you really fit 500 people in your backyard, or is the 500 person wedding just backyard style? I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm just trying to imagine it.
