Flowers

My florist is charging $150 for the Escort Card Table Floral Arrangement, but I don't get to take it

I have an etiquette question about the arrangement for the escort card table.  I ordered a 24" Cylinder Vase with orchids submerged in water with floating candles.  She said that they (the florists) take it back afterwards... is that common practice for them to take it back... ?

Real or fake you are being asked to pay $150 to RENT the arrangement. That's loco (on her part not yours). You're talking maybe, MAYBE $40 worth of product and about 15 minutes time max. I'd def be asking questions.

I'm guessing you are renting the vase, not buying it.  Ask how muhc it would be it buy instead of renting.

I would tell her "no thanks" to a $150 "rented" arrangement, and go BUY a vase of your own for her to make it in.  Then you can take it home afterwards.

If she gives you a hard time, tell her to make a regular arrangement for the table under XX dollar amount, and you'll furnish your own floating candle.

I agree with Catwoman and above posters. It sounds like a lot just to rent. I would definitely explore providing your own vase, etc. and get a quote on the cost of flowers and labor.

If, however, you are having a very elaborate table arrangement (candleabra, something like that) that would be rented. If that is the case, maybe the florist can work with you on and inner holder so that you could take the flowers.

I also agree with everyone you need to see what is in your contract and contact her to see why you can't keep it.

That is insane.  I did cylinder vases with submerged tulips and floating candles for some of my centerpieces.  They cost me about $22 each and took no time to put together.  Granted orchids cost more than tulips and I think your vase is a few inches bigger than mine were, but that shouldn't make it cost $150.
