Affordable fake flowers?

Does anyone know of a good place to pruchase fake flowers? I'm debating back and forth about using real or fake for my centerpieces. So far, when I look into buying bulk online or at Michaels, real is actually cheaper than fake. Does anyone have a place they ordered theirs from that was cheaper but still good quality?

Real flowers are for real love and real weddings and celebrations.... Fake are for cheapo decorating proects ...
Hey everybody , have some class and go for the real deal!  I would rather see one real daisy in a bud vase than a bushel full of cheap chinese junk!

a little attitude tonight I now.. forgive me.. but I'm serious!

@midgemoto - that was a little rough, but I do appreciate your advice. We were originally going to be going with real centerpieces that our florist would be doing for us... Well, I guess every wedding has its horror story and the florist turned out to be ours. After already giving her payments (which we are currently fighting to be reimbursed), we just don't have enough money left to do what we were originally wanting to do, and our wedding is only a month away so we don't have time to waste. I would love to have the flowers of my dream wedding, but not at the cost of going over the budget we set. So, please, be a little bit more couth in your responses.

That was really bitchy and judgy.  Also, perhaps a little racist with the Chinese comment.  You sound like a real piece of work.

OP - Other brides have used Afloral.com, I'm not sure where that falls into your budget.  I used real flowers from fiftyflowers.com and flowersandfreshness.com, it wasn't too much more than silk flowers...  but it does take more time in the day or two right before the wedding.  Silk flowers can be done a decent amount of time in advance which makes them very appealing for lots of DIY brides.

    Thank you Wisci!

    I haven't looked into flowersandfreshness.com - I'll have to check them out.

If they are large centrepieces with lots of detail then maybe fresh is best but if just small posy bunches scattered around you can get some lovely fake flowers and other decorations. so I'm having fake foam roses as I have a bad allergy and don't want to spend the day sneezing. So I got a nice boquet on ebay.

You can check out Michaels, Joann Fabrics or Pat Catans for fake. It's a whole lot cheaper and good for a girl on a budget. Guess what real flowers always die and our a waste in my opinion and we had plenty of people fooled at our wedding and thought they were real. People were more focused at my wedding on having fun then examining my centerpieces, lol.

Dollar stores are pretty awesome.  You could also check thrift stores, yard sales, craigslist for silks and TK classified and recycled bride for previously used silk floral arrangements.

    ALL OF THIS. Ew.

OP- I used Hobby Lobby during their 50% off floral sales (which happens monthly). I got the latex and real touch hydrangeas for texture and paid less for what the florists around here were charging. We also have dim lighting so it wont be so...noticable. (See pic below?)

More than anything, it was just a piece of mind to know that they wont wilt, or cause anybody's allergies to flare (points at self). Plus, I have zero 'real flower' talent.

Good luck to you, and PLEASE don't let anyone else's rude opinions affect how you go about prepping for this big milestone. Don't forget, everyone has their opinions, but it is yours & your FI's that count. :)
